Guys
Last year through the Venom F*** book page the organiser had a scheme whereby if the original sticker was validated - by Ivan - himself they would send you a new sticker
My old gun has a old sticker so a new one would have looked a bit out of place - if you know what I mean
I m not FB now so not sure its still on
Stay safe all

The twin Cobra sticker was used on rifles from the late 90's up to about 2005, so would only look correct on rifles of that period
As above, Ivan did release some to validated owners

Pretty sure someone did reprint some Venom stickers, as replacements for worn out ones, a few years ago. Pretty sure it was discussed on the old AGF.

Would I buy that sticker on the bay? Nope.

But, in any event, a sticker does not make a Venom rifle. As with any other purchase, a buyer should look for provenance and evidence of Venom involvement.

Yep and remember you could also have an older rifle that you bought in the 80s .. Send that into webley venom custom shop for conversion. Steve would do the conversion and on would go the twin Cobra sticker..

Yep
And even more reason for a buyer to carry out due diligence, before splashing out

I think the issue with Venom rifles is that there is no list of the serial numbers that were “customised”
There were so many variants offered as it was a custom tuning shop, that you really do need to thoroughly check what you are buying
Stickers mean nothing or the often quoted look for the blued compression tube on 77’s ( it doesn’t signify a Lazaglide it was an option)
There are people who are happy to help validate potential purchases such as Mach 1.5 on the other forum
When buying Venoms, Airmasters etc it really is a case of Caveat Emptor as everything ( stocks, actions and stickers) have been reproduced, even sellers may think they have the genuine article

It was discussed on the BBS Rob and the person who had them made them gave his reason for them being made and sold .

Search the forum for "Venom Stickers" and find the post from 2017 .

I was not on the AGF at that time so I did not see them discussed on the AGF.

got one of those stickers on one of our metal cabinets (that came from webley when the brum one shut) so maybe i have a genuine webley venom cabinet :ROFLMAO: gotta be worth a fortune then..........:ROFLMAO:😆
Don’t forget to mention it was once Steve’s own cabinet that he used to store all his design plans in etc etc and the sticker was from a custom made rifle for a Nigerian prince who didn’t want the sticker spoiling the unobtanium plating

Whoever buys it will probably be disappointed as it looks to have dimples/ small creases all over it.
It certainly looks genuine. There are two slightly differing versions of the twin cobra sticker.

The rectangle shaped reproduction Venom stickers mentioned have a slightly larger font than genuine ones and the material is thinner. They're easy to spot.

There are genuine examples of these about as in the 90's if you bought a moderator one came with it. One I bought for a HW80 around 1994 certainly came with a separate sticker.
