Probably my last post regarding scopes, I'm tilting between two scopes I've found good deals on and wanting to grab one.

Was looking at the Vector Optics Taurus (Tauron?) 5-30x56 30mm FFP IR (Model: SCFF-66)

Have however started looking at the seemingly so tried and tested Vector Optics Sentinel X Pro 10-40x50, (I'm not strictly benchrest shooting)

I don't need the extra mag of the sentinel, but wondering if the Taurus being a higher end model might have subatsncially better glass compared to the sentinel and might be a better buy considering I don't need the extra mag?

The biggest issue with the Sentinel model you quote is the reticle... it's very, very fine and quite BR specific.
So if that doesn't suit - it doesn't matter how good the glass is!

However, if you don't need the BR reticle and 40x mag then I'd suggest the Sentinel 8-32x50 it has a better reticle for all round use and I'm very happy with the glass quality on the one I have (they were also on offer for £99 from OW not long ago)

Yeah I did wonder about the reticle, didn't know they did an 8-32 version, that could be more ideal. Thanks
