After a couple of mornings of seeing activity in and around the garden, without managing to coincide them being on the feeder with me being in place, I decided last night to put the pop up hide up, and get up early today and stake it out.
Quite a misty start today, although it’s burning off now for what looks like another lovely day.
Saw three chasing through the oaks in next doors field. Looks like they’re stuffing themselves with emerging leaf buds.
Gave it a hour and a half, until 7 ( which is when I’ve been seeing them), but they weren’t coming down. So I went in to wake my daughter up and start the morning routine.
Of course, the first time I glance out the window there’s one bouncing across the shed roof heading for the feeder
Managed to keep low going out the back door and slip into the hide without spooking him.
And that’s number five in the bag at
22 yards. Regal .20 , 13.73grn Exacts.
Good sized boar.
Now to get on with some work.
Happy Friday everyone
