Has anyone got one?

I previously had an olight warrior with green filter fitted on my previous rifle and had a pressure pad for my supporting hand to activate.

I now have a new gun and my old set up won’t work due to the old mounts etc.

What have you got and what will fit on my Weihrauch HW100X KT??

You can get a rail that goes on the scope . The diameter of the torch may be an issue .
Blackwoods do them .

You can get them cheaper if you buy from China .

Well I'd use hicmicro alpex a50 with ir tourch

Anything in particular you would recommend?
I’d need something for day and night but 90% day so I used to take the torch off most of the time. View attachment 869405
Stick with the day scope and a red light torch for the amount of night shooting you are doing……….much better optical performance in the day.

Have a look at ludicrous lumens torches. Really well made and they do gimble torch mounts that attach via piccatinny. Someone has already suggested a ‘diving board’ Piccatinny rail that attaches/ replaces the top half of one of the scope mounts.

Back in 83/4, I made a rudimentary mount for a rubber coated torch.
The alloy strip, bent into an inverted “Omega” shape, was fixed to the top of my 4x32 scope with electricians tape and the scope fixed to the rail by the same method😂
It was a poorly constructed system, and made the “mighty” ASI Magnum unwieldy , yet it did account for the odd careless rabbit.

Fast forward to my early 20’s, I had graduated to a Titan Manitou with a Hubertus 6x40 and a Deben lamp with a Red Filter.
It was a brilliant little system which performed flawlessly. That Deben migrated over to my Logun Mk2 Pro carbine and it was a fabulous rig.

Things have moved on again and I have never used, let alone owned one of the new breed of night vision scopes-even an old Pard day/night scope is on my wanted list🙂

There was a torch that attaches underneath the rifle on the market a few years ago, which doubles as a “hamster” to make free standing shooting much more comfortable.

Tried several types but for ease & speed of fitting & removing to put guns in or out of rifle bags I used to keep going back to my homemade quick release mount made from two QR MTB handlebar torch mounts bolted back to back. Beats faffing about with allen bolts etc when you need a torch on or off quick.& Swivels on the central bolt for quick alignment.

Has the added advantage of fitting anything on both ends up to 40 mm with the ratchet straps on it.

A basic "figure of 8" mount which clamps to a scope and also grips a torch works well.

* However, before night vision developed to today's level of sophistication, I had a couple of cheap tripods which had torches on them. . The torches were switched on and off by a remote control (radio) switch which had a range of about 50 yards.
These were placed into the area where bunnies were known to congregate... and, from the hide, they were switched on and the area was bathed in light.
It was surprisingly effective as the bunnies froze in the light long enough to take a shot. . . . But they caught onto it eventually.

Modern night vision is far superior.
