My wife was meeting friends so i went along with her and got her wheelchair out of the car and walked to her meeting point then left her so I could go for a walk .

I go by the funeral directors to get there as there is a crossing at the end of the road and saw this Funeral Land Rover.

Whipped my cap off as walked by . I always remove my cap if i know there is service going on in there or if i see the hearse passing. I know some others do it .

I get to the crossing and the house owners at the end of the road always put out water for peoples dogs . Often they get blown away Or idiots destroy them as has happened before .

At the end it turns right .

Some one had left their dog poop bag on the fence .

I was surprised when i saw it had been removed as i went back the same way though the other one below in in the grass was still there

This banking most years has Sand Martins ( i found out what they were today ) but there is only a few holes in this year .They are favouring the banking on the other side .

other side

Sand Martins flying about and going into the banking . YouTube has compressed it and the quality is not as good as it was recorded

The bit of wood in the river was part of a house some one built for animals to go into but some one has pulled it apart.

This was the rest of it . I turned it over just in case anything wanted to shelter under it

There is a bird box on one of the trees , I often see birds use it but not this year as there is still a egg from a bird last year . I checked it in the winter and looked today and its still there . I may remove next time in there.

I also found some litter that i then carried out along with my own rubbish. If you can carry it there you can carry it back out . I put it in the bin near the crossing.

More litter thrown in the river

This tree came down the year before and acts like a dam .

That sounds like a good walk taken, and lovely pics\narrative🤗
Those who litter should be banned from the countryside imo.
I walk the route often though i start at the other end and do the the full trail .

I only went from the grey road near Sketrie burn to level with the Home ( it is a nursing home ) way point on the left in the middle . So the trail plus walking from where my wife was meeting friends as around 2 miles .

I was sitting at the first bend under the Sketrie Burn label.

I often take bags of litter from there . People will go to the bit where I sit down at and have parties , You can see where they had a fire in the picture above and i have been walking there and come across the fire still burning and their alcohol bottles and cans still sitting there along with other rubbish including the bags they took it there with.

I have a walk I like to take here in Essex, it takes in a beauty spot, which I live next to, visited by many, and it dismays me with what people are too lazy and damnit, ignorant, to take home.
I often take my old posty bike which has a massive rack on the front over there to pick rubbish.

We had a spot a few miles from me that only a a number of locals knew of it and then when we had to lock down and only allowed travel in your own area some one posted about it on a local Facebook page and people flocked to it .

One of the comments on the Facebook page when some one called it a hidden gem

Yes do come to visit it…as long as you enjoy walking through broken glass, used nappies, faeces and other rubbish…
Beautiful from a distant aerial view but the hordes found this spot during Covid and after some heavy use and several wildfires it is definitely not so eyecatching!

They were parking on the roads and obstructing farmers in tractors , Parking in the farmers fields (opening the gates and driving in ) and so on. It end up a mess due to people taking disposable barbecues and booze and leaving it all there .

The Police had to go there daily to get people to move their cars , they also ticketed them .

I'm not sure if it is as popular now , We have never been but may have a look one day

That is exactly what happened where I live, with the same result.

But I'm sorry, don't let me distract from your lovely walk, and images☺️

I know i'm in a good place with good people when i see the dog water bowls outside of shops and houses when the weather gets hot.
A number of shops here put them out and I have seen a number on he dog walking routes, Sometimes there is a poop bag dispensers also but some ignore it going by the poop that gets left.
