This weekend we’re back down in Suffolk for the first visit of the year.
Got up at six and went for a little wander just to see what’s about.
And on a morning like today, it’s great just to be out.

Didn’t take long before I saw movement through the trees
I saw him and he saw me.
He flattened himself against the back of a branch, with just his tail and one foreleg showing.
He obviously thought he was doing the right thing, but it just gave me time to get the trigger sticks set up nicely and focus and dial in the Zulus.
And then he made mistake of peering around the branch to see if I was still there.
At 19 yards, that was all I needed.
13.73 .20 Exact on its way, and that’s the first one of the year off the estate for me.

Hung around for twenty minutes and saw quite a few others moving around in the distance.

And then we come to today’s lesson.
Go for a poo before you go out with the gun!!
Suddenly realised that I didn’t have long, so had to call an end to this morning’s session and make a very quick dash for the jakes! 😂

Hopefully get a couple more before we leave on Monday.

Great write up and photos!

Biggest mistakes squirrels make- being nosey, and the ones that can't help being gobby when you have no idea there's one around.
