How many of you clean the barrel of your airguns? I've got a Napier pull through kit I've used maybe twice since I've had it many years ago. I read up on things and some people like to clean their barrel regularly. Some when accuracy drops and some not at all. I'm trying out some new pellets shortly so I was thinking of giving mine a clean before I do

As @bflat7 & @nrj above only clean the barrels on my guns when new or if/when accuracy drops off.
Made the mistake of cleaning the barrel of my well used .177 MK2 Walther Reign once for no other reason than to see if improved an already accurate gun.
It took a few range sessions to get it shooting something like what it had been & it's preferred pellet (Baracuda 8's) were no longer it's preferred pellet, for some bizarre reason FTT's proved to be the best after it's barrel clean & still are 🥴🥴🥴

Never a pull through. Use a few VFG cleaning pellet things some with a bit of napier lube on then fire a few dry ones. Without silencer on, they're loud. Only ever do it after shooting in rainy conditions. More for piece of mind, whether its needed or not, I dont know. Thata rare though, I dont use pull through on my current guns though. Might consider for a new gun

I`m a tinkerer so if I`ve got the gun on the rest for owt else I`ll give it a dry pull through, if you are using a wet application it`s good practise to turn your gun upside down to avoid debris getting into the transfer port

As many have said a new gun needs a good clean but then time to lead in sometimes more than one clean is needed but once it is clan and leaded in only clean it IF the accuracy go's off --leading in can take quite a few shots it all depends on the lead make up of the pellets soft hard etc --and as also said every barrel is diffrent --i also only clean the barrel the same way the pellet travel breach to muzzle being careful with the crown

Have some rifles that have never been cleaned, and others that only get cleaned if accuracy goes off,one from new was full of factory gunk and once cleaned it was fine. Some of the Bench rest guys clean them every 200 or so shots! So as and when really.

This is a topic which crops up quite frequently.

My barrels are cleaned after every session at the airgun club. . A session can last for several hours and it isn't unusual to get through an entire tin of pellets.

Regular cleaning maintains the accuracy. 👍

I can't imagine continuing to shoot a rifle knowing full well that the accuracy will drop off. Shrug tt

Very rarely clean mine, ususlly after a full strip or accuracy issues.

All you're cleaning (normally) is a lining of lead which we want.

It may be a good idea for a quick clean between testing different manufacturers of pellets

Clean mine as soon as I get it, other than that I don't unless the accuracy starts to fall off.
