I’m looking for some recommendations on a thermal scope.
I only really shoot rats around barns and yards but I still want a capable scope with good picture.
I have a range ti35 spotting scope with an excellent picture clarity and I want a scope with at least as good as the spotter or better.
I have always used ir scopes but even with the 940nm on rats can still see it. I do use this factor to my advantage when they are in a difficult position to take a shot to move them from one area to another with less cover.
I’m flexible on prices and I certainly don’t want the cheapest as I have looked through a few thermal spotters but the lower price ones are dismal at best and some are useless, after using mine for a few years I think I am spoiled a bit. I don’t want multi spectral and don’t use lrf functions.
Any help welcome.

Anyone within a reasonable distance from Gwent S.Wales who has these kind of scopes I would be very interested in looking through some.

We went for a used Thermtec Ares and it wasn’t that expensive considering it was over 4k new awesome scope would even go as far to say it gives a cleaner image than our Merger NXP50’s

There's a few scopes that have come out recently that are punching way above their weight class. And if it's only for sub12 pesting they make perfect sense to me. Image quality is fantastic, detection range 400m (more than enough)

What's your budget? I can think of two fantastic thermal scopes for under £1000 which would serve the purpose extremely well.
1, Thermnight TNC225R
2, Infiray TP25

Personally I'll be going for option 1, but it is bulky

I am taking this info in and looking at the specs and I am definitely going to need a look through lens of a few together.
I haven’t put a hard budget on it as when it comes down to it I will buy the scope with the best picture clarity at the range I need and preferably one with a non proprietary battery and with a bit of luck it won’t be the most expensive, tho I am familiar with the price of thermal.
