I had a throttle cable break in Failsworth, after visiting Manchester Air Guns. Had to turn the tickover up to about 5,000 rpm and nurse the bike to Robinsons in Rochdale to get a new one. Got some very funny looks whenever I had to stop at traffic lights with the engine revving hard, then wait ages for it to cool down enough to fit the new cable without burning myself. Not an experience I want to repeat !The clutch cable on my 250 went in the middle of Manchester. That was fun going home on the A6 through all the lights
