The MWSS200 moderator - quieter than a Weihrauch :)

How do yours compare to the 0db silencer ?
I couldn't tell you tbh, but if you look at post #1 of this thread it shows a comparision review of the MWSS200 against a Weihrauch unit carried out by forum member "Wing Commander". The MWSS200 in that test was quieter than the Weihrauch......see below

Noise:
This is why we buy silencers...
Standard SMK device: A whopping 110 decibels. . . ouch.
Weihrauch: 67 decibels.
MWSS 200: 65 decibels.
For reference, 120 decibels is the threshold of pain. 65 decibels is roughly no louder than hearing speech at 3ft.
There is more noise generated by the sound of a pellet striking a paper target than there is from the muzzle of the rifle.

Here is more decibel readings from "Wing Commander" when he fitted another MWSS200 to his shrouded RTI Prophet. Seen on this thread Post #154

Here are the readings. The noise meter was placed in a very quiet room to reduce any background noise.

The RTI Prophet rifle was fired 4 times without any pellets (it is louder without pellets) from a distance of 4ft, with the muzzle aimed directly at the microphone. . See the spikes on the graph.

The results are in the pictures... A max reading of 54dB is seriously silent.

Got mine on my tx now and I know they can be marmite on an HC, but I actually quite like it. Also, it really does work! I can't provide any readings to support this, but shooting from inside the house out into the garden with it on, then removing it, I was really quite shocked at just how much difference it made. The change from a muted thud to a really quite sharp crack without it was very noticeable. If you were under any doubts as to whether it will actually make a difference, don't be!! It most definitely does!!
