Ok .I may have been overthinking things but we now live in a very different country to the one I grew up in .I carry a Leatherman everywhere bar the pub .I have the Bond and the knifeless Rebar .The Bond though it has a slipjoint knife doesn't close unimpeded due to the handles .The knifeless Rebar though it doesn't have a knife ,it does have a locking saw and awl and a better pliers head .I thought I'd combine the tools I use the most into one package .I won't miss the knife as I carry a separate slipjoint knife .I have a few locking Leathermans but honestly I much prefer the elegance and simplicity of the Bond ,and I've never had it close on me .I now have what I think is the most UK compliant multitool for my needs ,and it was surprisingly easy to do .

Nice work! I must admit I'm quite happy with the pliers on my Bond but I like what you've done with saw blade from the Rebar...if only you could buy the saw blades separately.
I really liked the Bond...I think Leathermans got far too big, bulky and complicated, and the Bond takes it back to basics (like the original PST).

Personally I don't think about this too much when carrying a Leatherman about my person. It's a tool, I'm a small holder (I have a farm number), I'm rural, I have a good reason, I'm auld and forgetful etc. I get it could be deemed locking but if you're a decent, law abiding citizen then police interactions are generally non existent.

There is sellers of parts on eBay but have to come from the US so may make it cost prohibitive.

Also on Etsy.

Most knives and multi tools are easy to put into the EDC type . i have done a fair few for folks but the posting of blades back and forwards is too high. Indeed as i type this i have an altered Brazilian made Swiss Army knife in my pocket now , literally it was made better than the Swiss . Had to shorten two of the blades and re shape and the sides don't fall off like most swiss do ! It also keeps an edge better
