I'll start a macro thread because I know some are into macro.
I'm starting to get to grips with the 5DMkIII with the prime 100mm on. Again, the 15mm extension on today.
Three crops but the flower is uncropped. Cloudy so I know it can do better.

I'm finding this 100mm lens without image stabilization is a very difficult lens to keep sharp. Might try manual focus.

Nikon coolpix macro just now, might use that instead for macro.
This critter was 7mm long.

@Rick Did you use stacking software similar to what I used for astronomy or did the camera do it?

New lens arrived this morning. F stops when really close won't cut the mustard between f5.6 and f8 which these were taken on. Looks like its going to be f8 to f16 on this lens because its tight. f2.8 on this is unusable really close up but ok about 2 feet from the subject.

F13 is not bad but you need a lot of light and getting in close blocks your light source. Enhanced in Lightroom but OK for my first bash with this lens.

From the info @Rick has given so far, his R5 camera has the setting to take the succession of pictures but like most ( if not all ) the stacking happens post process on a PC due to the amount off processing needed
I’ve always loved macro but have to admit to neglecting my photography passion for a few years now so have never tried any stacking software, but I have spent a few hours today reading about the different versions available. Who knows what the future holds

Just used @Rick flash settings on the new lens which is a Sigma 70mm EX DG macro. Flash on defused setting 1, f13, ss200 auto ISO. Works well.

In camera for the one that’s a bit more orange and Affinity Photo for the other.
Affinity is very complex and way above my pay grade but I might sit down one day and try and learn how to use it properly.

Looks a useful bit of software. Looking forward to the images you create
