The Hawke range finder is dead

Well it had been working ok but at the weekend is suddenly decided everything was between 7 and 9 yards away.

Well I’ve contacted hawke let them know straight away it’s out of warranty and they said send it for them to look.
If they can repair it the cost will be no more than £15 and £6.50 return postage.
If they can’t then I can have a discount on a new one.

You can’t say fairer than that

It’s no wonder everyone says their service is the best.
That’s great service. I keep thinking of upgrading and didn’t know whether to go for hawke or busnell. I could get a slight discount on the bushnell but I can’t see the service being as good as that.

Before you say it cannot be fairer than that perhaps its age should be a consideration as to how it sits with the requirements of the Consumer Protection Act and the obligations of whichever vendor sold it to you. Its vendor should be the first port of call with the question of what he would do about it provided it fell within the durability limits set by the said Act.

Mine reads 9yds in poor conditions such as drizzle or fog.
Are the lenses clean?

As I said it was definitely out of any warranty

With any other purchase I would agree with you. But when the service you will get by going straight to Hawke is so very good, for their products I’d cut out the middleman and go direct to them.
Going back to the seller will take you longer (as they themselves will have to send it to Hawke) and you run the chance of them giving you problems.

I had something similar go wrong with my out of warranty Hawke LRF a few months ago. As they couldnt fix it they gave me a 50% discount code off of anything from their LRF range, so i got the Endurance 500m for £124. This is fantastic customer service that needs to be applauded.
