The Boxing Thread

A £25 one off ppv fee is the usual going rate for top end cards nowadays.
I think the yanks pay $75+ for a ppv fights,so we have it a lot better.
I'm more than happy to pay £25 for the big fights.

Lawrence Okolie won his first heavyweight fight, looked a bit flabby (as if I am lean and mean, pah) to my untrained eye. Still a win is a win against a good, not great, opponent.

From DAZN
So not free to air but a monthly pass similar I guess to the way they show NFL or free to DAZN subscribers. Let’s see.

At DAZN, we're proud to bring boxing to the world. In close collaboration with H.E. Turki Alalshikh, Riyadh Season, The Ring, Queensberry, Matchroom, Golden Boy, and many more, we've helped redefine the sport — delivering the biggest names, the most iconic venues, and unforgettable nights that reach millions around
the world.
Now, we're entering the next phase. As reported by several outlets, we hope to launch in the future - The Ring Pass - a premium global monthly subscription backed by DAZN, Riyach Season, and The Ring. One simple subscription. Every fight. All Pay-Per-Views included. That's our ambition. We're currently shaping the details and working closely with partners to bring it to life — with the goal of making boxing easier to access, simpler to follow and better value for fans who want everything.
Sounds good. But I am too old school liking the previous boxing decades- Dempsey to the seventies- to want to watch live events- would sooner look up Marciano and Ali fights on youtube. Would be good for people who like the modern era, rather than the £25 or whatever the single PPV fights might cost.

Both fighters turned up tonight and right man won.
Usyk is a stunning boxer and a good man, at the end of the fight he went to Dubois, talked to him and bowed.
He is a special once in a generation fighter
Three time undisputed champion, two times heavyweight undisputed champion.

Just like every other boxer before him

DuBoise started gobbing off and telling everybody that he was going to knock Usyk out and then got schooled and beaten up and humiliated by a far better boxer and an all round classier Fella.

NEXT

Super left hook. Love him or hate him, Usyk is the best. Beat Joshua twice, beat Fury twice and now Dubois twice.
There's no one left, Wilder is in no mans land and the rest are pants.

My predictions were right for once..

I agree, there's not a single boxer these days that is pay a premium to watch. Canelo comes closest, he's a real boxer but I much prefer heavyweight boxing

Bought classic 60s Batman last year , first time ever watched it - and just watched an episode with non other than Gerry Quarry in a 30 second role - being aware of him from George Foreman talking about him with respect - but not knowing too much- checked him out on wiki- another of the old school who had it tough.. dogged by a couple of health issues but one of the greats not to have won a title said couple of the boxers.

Anyone remember Randall Tex Cobb - TV film actor but heavyweight also?

The Benn v Eubanks 2 has been rescheduled to 15th November at Tottenham
