Been trying to buy back my Dads old Greeves Scottish that he rebuilt 20 years ago.
Ended up giving up as the seller was really taking the p*** price wise I ve just bought this instead A little SL175 one owner bike from Colorado USA 1,700 miles from new for a lot less than the Greeves This will make a cracking little enduro bike 5 speed twin carbs electric start Carbs off & clean, new battery, couple of tyres and a chain pair of side panels and a bit of TLC and it should be good to go.I have to say I have more fun on these little off roaders than I do with my road bikes for a lot less money 👍👍View attachment 108842View attachment 108843View attachment 108843View attachment 108844View attachment 108845View attachment 108846
You may want to check the marking on the barrels as this seem to look more like the 350cc version ....which would be a nice surprise

Tax disc on my tax exempt 20mpg 500 two stroke triple smoke machine, seems to make most folk grin, but also one or two bike riders have been a bit put out and started wittering on about "ruining
the image of the biker".

The same ones often comment on the fact I have chambers and not standard pipes, but to be honest the things make so much racket from induction noise and engine rattles bangs and fin buzz, they probably are over 90db even if they had corks shoved up the pipes!

I normally reply to the concerned types they are weeing in the wind as the majority of other road users see any two wheeled rider as part of the same crew, so be it classic to adventure bike, cruiser to commuter, you are all the same, and all the teddy bear runs in the World wont make any odds to the haters.

Took my GS for an Mot today. Not been able to ride much of late, as we were having work done on the house so the bike was stored at my office. Only done 750 miles since January 2021.
As my school reports used to say, "Must try harder!"
Cheers
Mark

Few more pictures of my newly acquired Honda SL175 Had a few minutes yesterday with the oil can Giving the chain some oil the first time probably in 52 years dry as a bone but serviceable once oiled The main priority is getting it up and running before swapping anything out 👍

Amazed to see the return of Ghost Rider after 20 years with a modern high quality video, it's a totally reckless and illegal 180 mph road ride on public roads endangering many lives, almost unbelievable riding -

This is about as fast as I go these days......reckless in the sense I was using a little Panasonic pocket digi camera to film, so obviously not looking were I was going, but to be fair we were trundling along slower than some of the lycra nutters we get around here on 14K bikes (yes no typo, one guy I spoke to once had a acrbon Colnago with works wheels that cost him nearly 15k all in).

On the way home I worked out his pushbike had cost more than both our mountain bikes, PLUS our cars (old Outback and Panda) and both our classic bikes, plus even my little fishing boat added together!o_O

Yes, my fastest days are decades behind me, and with the performance of today's bikes (engine power, suspension and tyres) I'm kind of glad I peaked when I did.
I keep trying cycling and enjoy it's similarities to motorcycling, but the thing that ruins it for me is the pedalling bit, especially on hills.

I'll actually be going on my RE Himalayan Brian. Small bike but a good one for what I have planned. I intend to ride the Camino (Sotres to Espinama) trail. And some other high mountain trails as well as exploring the great mountain roads.

20 years ago I loved watching ghost rider. Watching this video today I realise I have a different perspective on life, it’s value, and what makes me happy.
