As many of you may know (and I'm sure many do not) there are plenty of peeps on here that write in the shooting press / media - myself included. I've spoken to our great overlords (the admins / mods) and we've agreed it would be a good idea to post up previous feature articles on hunting etc that are no longer available in print.

In my own case, I've written for "Airgun Shooter" and "The Countryman's Weekly" fairly regularly until their final demise. I have also written for the National Game Keepers Organisation, The Shooting Times, BASC magazine and some of the "Field" type mags over the years. As neither Airgun Shooter nor Countryman's Weekly are now in circulation, I've asked our overlords if I could put some of my previous publications up here simply for reference and interest as it seems a shame that no one new would ever read them. So here, in this thread, I will upload hunting articles, and even generic Q&As for those that might be interested (mainly as PDFs - some polished articles, some pre-prints). If you also have articles, and copyright is not an issue, feel free to share here so your effort can continue to make a contribution to the field. Hopefully this will become a "Sticky" and people can continue to contribute to the AGF2 hunting library.

Regards
Dr B

Excellent idea Dr B, I really enjoy reading your stuff, very informative and interesting.👌

Bugger, I don't know if I still have any! I started in 1985 with Tony Jackson at the helm of Shooting Times, one or two features/jobs a week. That got me noticed and I also produced features for, or was sent on photographic assignments by, most of the other titles at IPC: The Field (Julie Spencer was editor and Patrick Fong picture editor), Shooting News (weekly - it was burned out by the antis, as was our house and my van one night, we were asleep, George was 12 months old and asleep in a different room - we were woken by a fireman up a ladder to get us out.) That set us back a bit. Shooting News was restarted in new premises as The Countryman's Weekly. Other regular titles:
Sporting Gun, The Shooting Gazette, Scottish Sporting Gazette, The Field, Sporting Shooter, Rifle Shooter, Sporting Rifle Shooter, The Rifleman, Safari (Safari Club International's magazine), Shooting Sportsman, Gray's Sporting Journal, Wild und Hund, Jagd Weldvide, Jakt, Plaisire de Chasse, African Hunting Gazette, Fieldsports, Airgunner, Airgun Shooter.... and probably a load I have forgotten!

I will see if I can find some - pictures might be problem, much was on film! I will see what I can dig out.

The Countryman's Weekly May 2021. Article detailing spring rifle tuning with a focus on my former MKI HW80 (Nick Gibney tuned, reduced buttoned piston / cylinder, new spring, seals, internal polish etc). Now owned by @2506sendero. (y)
