I was thinking the HW110K my grandkids are using to shoot in my backyard, at about 30 metres was heavier than it should be, and I realised the scope was probably far too big for the gun - 50mm. I started changing about the scopes and rifles I have and was surprised to find that an old Simmons 3-9x40 was fine for that gun at that distance.
Typical male problem - 9x mag is good, therefore 24 must be better, and that needs a 50mm lens so that's what I'll get.
What do others use for what is basically some backyard plinking, but at a reasonable distance?
