Good Afternoon,

I have a Stoeger RX20 S2 that has a terrible trigger and has the accuracy of a shotgun. What can i do to make this better as its a beautiful looking rifle.

You might find the pellets are clipping the inside of the moderator. If its a new gun id take it back. If not not sure how but try removing moderator. Not sure if still available welsh Willy and Charlie De tuna used to make replacement trigger sets which improved triggers considerably. Try some different pellets to some guns only like a few and scatter others

It was ok when it was down on power so i am hoping its just the spring need bedding inn. Il stick a couple of tins through once I've stripped it to see what's going on. Thank you for all your help.

I have a similar gun, but with a plastic stock.

Mine is accurate and powerful.

The trigger pull was originally very long. There was a bit of spring twang and it is quite loud.

I fitted a GRT-111 trigger which has given a great improvement.

I stripped mine and found swarf embedded in the piston seal (the piston has a depression drilled into it, possibly for UK de-tuning)

I replaced the piston seal and de-burred the cylinder. I fitted a piston sleeve which has reduced twang. There is no spring preload -some spacers/washers might reduce noise, but I suspect that power is quite high.

I have fitted an adjustable butt pad and made a hamster grip/rest.

I have now added two washers to mine. Preload is still low enough to easily re-assemble without a spring compressor.

The twanginess seems to have increased!

I may make a plastic spacer in place of the washers.

Hello you seem to know a bit about these rifles... if I were to replace my main spring with a upgraded one what model spring do I need. Im also going to buy this trigger you mentioned but I also wanted to replace the piston seal and sleeve but not sure what type I'm looking for. Any help would be much appreciated cheers 😅 I have a RX20 S2 I think it has blue grips on the but stock and barrel. I've only just got it but not sure on year model ect 🤦‍♂️

The XS20 is the same as the SMK19, a clone of the Gamo 220.
Twang is due to an ill fitting spring guide.
The trigger can be made better using the bearing or bush modification. Google Crosman trigger mod.
You can get a guide made to fit your spring or just buy a new spring and guide from TBT or Welsh Willy.
