Snowpeak ap900 looks nice for the money

Someone here told me that the TP puck is 8mm OD. Can anyone tell me the thickness? I plan to make a set from 2.5mm to 3.0mm going up in 0.1mm increments for testing. I don’t want to degas and take the rifle apart just to find out.

I bought a AP900 on Monday, after getting a emil telling me that they were back in stock, checked yesterday, they have no stock of either the AP900 or AP1000.

You don't need to degas to get at the t p

Both my AP1000 and my new AP900 had the brass restrictor screwed into the TP. Both simple to remove with an Allen key. I think I made up a 3.2mm puk for my 1000, and a 3.6mm puk for the 900. I just machined them from a length of ptfe rod I had.

I just removed the brass insert, and left the pick in place.
Chrono'd it, and it was over 16ftlb!!

A 1/4 turn of the reg, brought it down to 11.5ftlb.

With that in mind, I can't see a reason to change the standard puck on the ap1000, don't know if the ap900 would be different

😭 Had my hands on one today. Looks like im going to end up buying one when they're back in stock 🤣

A word of warning for those fiddling with them, make sure you put some heavy 10.34s through it as there seems to be quite a surpising difference in power between a 8.44 and 10.34 on these. More than i was expecting
I'd really suggest buying a sample pack of Jumbo's 13.xx and beasts 16.xx.
I've had a few surprises when testing to that weight.
I've had guns hit 15 or more fpe with really heavy pellets that were only doing 10.5 with 8.44's.
You might never use anything that heavy but a tester might.
I doubt it will be a problem with the choked standard transfer ports. But if you've fitted bigger it's a concern

Hi @RatSplat when I get a chance would you mind if I DM'd you a few questions please ?

I use 10.65 Bisley Magnums for chrono testing. I have tried slightly heavier, but noticed a reduction in power with my test pellets beyond the Bisleys. I have also noticed a staggering difference in power with these particular rifles between the heavy and lighter weights, usually in the region of 2 to 3 ft/lb. Right out of the box, my AP900 was running at12.3ft/lb with the Bisleys. Thankfully after a fair bit of fettling, it now tops out around 11.7, but with its preffered JTS 10.4grn I get around 11.4.

That all sounds sorted then. It always worries me how few people test anything heavier than 10's.
If they don't test it they can't know for aure

Has anyone been able to source a full seal kit, I know that a new AP900/1000 comes with a set of seals, but if one wants to tinker with it then a complete seal kit will be needed.
B & K don't currently have one/them, so where else might be a good source?

Sub12Airgunners has a list at the start of the Dissassembly video. These are “measured” as there is no official list. I have contacted @ped about a couple of sets, he is waiting on a couple of sizes to come in.

I have been playing about with various setting to see the impact of incremental changes. I have been doing all the tests using Victory Shocks, because in the past, they have given similar fps to Exacts and are much cheaper for testing. But I thought I’d put some Exacts Heavies through, wow, an extra 0.98ftlb. I haven’t had that kind of increase with any of my other rifles. I think I have some jumbos in a drawer, I’ll have to look them out and give it a go.

0.1mm increments. Wow your keen.

Apparently the new batch has a brass screw in the port to restrict it.
I made up the pucks yesterday afternoon, but found that I only have bits going up in 0.1mm increments from 2.48mm. But I plan to have a low reg setting, so the bigger TP diameters are more relevant. (.177).

I have now joined the .22 AP900 owners club, Thank you @Paynut ,
