Folks,

I recently bought some .22 Spitfires Dome from a shop and believe them to be the new stock, clean and shiny, and they carry the weight of 14.6 grains on the tin.

The SMK web site: https://www.sportsmk.co.uk/cat/1932/pellets-and-amp-bbs-air-guns/pellets/ confirms the pellets weigh 15.5 grains, and I can imagine that there may be new stock in old tins still on the market. 15.5 grains seems right for the pellets in my tin as they give 11.3 ft pds in my Venom Viper, which is what I expect, more in line with others, like Accupel.

So, Spitfires .22 of the new type are 15.5. Just sayin'.

Oh, and I like them, a lot.

The old domed spitfires were very hit and miss.but if cleaned and sized they work excellent in my springers

Can't beat Spitfire Domes for vfm, I use them in my BSA Standard .22 and they group nicely at 25yds. Just as good as the RWS Superdomes, in fact.

Hello, I used Spitfire domed pellets years ago , Like Superdomes they seem to work ok in a few springers i started ratting with, Once i went PCP it was Air Arms and now JSBs

I'm down to my last tin of the newer ones, they are a crisp clean pellet, shiny, with what seems to be like a lube on them.
To be honest I've not used them much, just chucked em in on pistol sales to sweeten the deals.

I use these in my S200 and they are as accurate as it's old favourite JSB (occasionally beating JSB too). Stocked up in 10 tins of each .22 and .177. Out of 5 tins so far, only around 10 were deformed. The .177 also perform brilliantly through the HW99 and FX DRS. I think I did a post a while back on the same subject of weights and showed some groups Vs the JSB at range. I did fire over SMK an email saying such a weight difference on the tin could cause issues. The only gripe I have is they are a bit dirty but nothing a quick shake in a cloth doesn't fix.

Just tried these in the Np02. Better than Jsb exact, probably a grain lighter was the trick. Not so good in the Hw99 but that loves heavier Jsb. Saves me £7 a tin. Happy days.
