skan pro 1 series 3 chrono

I have a skan pro 1 series 3 chrono that's getting on a bit. The rubber surrounds are falling off, as are the perspex sides covering the sensors. It's also missing the power adapter that i can't seem to buy from anywhere.

Has anyone had theirs serviced before? or calibrated?

The power adapters can be bought from the bay of E, just as generic chargers. You need to get the correct voltage though. My original one gave up about 5 years ago and the replacement I bought was about a tenner.

Skan will service, repair and recalibrate. One of the Skan workers used to be a member of the old AGF, but I lost his contact details

I've not heard good things about skans customer care TBH, it's usually along the lines of - buy a new one

Just checked mine.
The top of the Skan itself is marked 14-18vdc
I bought a 15v adapter

Thanks. I think i did contact skan a while ago about buying a replacement charger but they never got back to me.

I can only seem to find adapters with the barrel type plug on ebay. I've been using a 12v battery without problem, but it's a bit bulky.

As long as the charger has 2 wires stuck together (side by side), just cut the end plug off, part the pair of wires and remove enough insulation from the ends to stick in the terminals of the skan

ive got a pro 1 that would not read every shot, called skan about service, they weren’t interested and was told to buy a new one.

A good reason to buy an LMBR! good after sales,long battery life,can work off mains adapter!,just as accurate.

Should do, cut the plug off and check the polarity of the wires with a volt meter before you poke them in!

Thanks. Should it matter that this is AC? Think the original unit is DC fw1288 18v.

Mine is a very old one , About the size of a shoe box, I've had a couple of these turn up when people have given the sport up, My first one which I kept I believe could be from the 80s , Its been amazing and sometimes one if the led segments fail to light up on occasion , But hardly noticeable, I was always under the impression that two 9v battery's were the norm to power these being very small, Some use power tool battery's, Saying that you can get very small 12v battery's now. Always tempted to buy a newer version but this works fine ,Well up untill now anyway, For me I would only go skan with how long and well this has lasted.
