Sir David Attenborough

I can always remember my Mum telling us about watching a wildlife film about Weaver birds that he did when he was much younger, the single tree was full of the nests of the birds flying in and out, then he said about waste being thrown about and the camera showed broken glass on the floor and apparently the reflected sun caught the tree on fire and that shown in flames. She was always a fan until then.
 
"National Treasure" is often applied too indiscriminately, in my view.

Probably an understatement when applied to to Sir David - "International Treasure" would be nearer the truth, i.m.h.o.

No doubt some people will disagree - fair enough - but I reckon he has done more than anyone else to help conservation and increase the understanding of wildlife by the general public.
 
Amazing man, he has seen so much change on this planet in his lifetime. For those who doubt climate change, just watch the very early films and then look at what these places look like now after he has revisit decades later on.

Happy 100th Birthday Sir David Attenborough.
