Show us your shooting bench

I don't have a more recent picture, it's got some noise reducing insulation on some of the walls now and is both carpeted on the bench and has a padded floor for insulation - I've had to put 6mm ply down now for the casters of the chairs though 🤷‍♂️

Suggestions please. Got the MDF top any suggestions for good solid folding legs to provide a stable support for the top. Cheers Alex
Get one of THESE and some carriage bolts... Cut the MDF to suit (at least 900mm long) and bolt it to the saw horse. You'll need to drill some extra holes in the saw horse and the legs won't fold absolutely flat but for less than £40 all in, you can have something like this... 🙂

I can get my fat belly under it comfortably and it's height adjustable too 🙂

That looks good, can you give more details please? Is it bought or did you make it? dimensions?

Alan
I got it on eBay a couple of years ago, fairly pricy but works well - we use the same ones at my club. It's this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/322683813404?var=514018503001

They come unfinished - I did put a coat of varnish on it, but then left it out last winter (under an open sided gazebo) so it's suffered a bit!

Wow, that’s certainly the best I’ve seen yet, really snug fit, just perfect 😍.

Morning J.

Good morning Mr Mike 🙂
It is very stable except for when there a earth quake. I do it for a bit of fun and improve shooting skills . especially gaining head position. shooing BR targets as you know is not easy at the best of times so i make things a bit more difficult.
it all helps in the long run 🙂👍

I’ve heard that @1260engineer likes it rough 💪. The men from Skynet are tough, really tough 🫣!
Tiz funny Mike something i dont think about as its just a crack on thing . . age
when i did that . i was over 65 .. and i can still do press ups with my feet on the wall now.
tiz funny what you can do when your head tells you that your still only 9 years old 😁

I know my capability for offhand shooting, but for sighting in and long range varmint shooting I've been using a black & decker workmate with a simple swivel top I made, since the mid 1980's.
Where I lived overseas there were plenty of troublesome ground squirrels to cull on the ranches and farms I had access to. The swivel top kept the rests from requiring readjustment, and it is easy to store and transport when necessary to set up in a field; and very stable.
Edit: I made the front rest shown in the second picture from a photo enlarger. It has all the elevation adjustment ever needed.

@Gap-Shot

You in Colombia? You appear to be making bag rests from parcels if narcotics😅View attachment 968586
Ha Ha, :ROFLMAO: They are made by the Protector Company, same as the rear sandbag rest. I've had then for over 30 years. Don't know if they may still be available, but I found them to have been a luxury item at the time. Looking back, they were well worth the cost for comfort.
