Happy new gun day last Friday

Pete

That's a very tidy ...
Longbow ;)

Is the SE a true Birmingham made Longbow or the Hatsan cobbled version?
All of the SE models were made in Turkey as far as I’m aware and fitted with what looks like a CS thumbhole stock. I believe some have reported quality not as good as Birmingham made models but I haven’t found any difference in the way my SE .22 shoots compared to my Brummie .22. The blueing on the Birmingham models is definitely deeper than the Turkish models though

Hatsan had a stock of Birmingham produced Longbow parts & they were used until they ran out. Problem was they just threw any combination of original Webley parts & inferior Hatsan parts together.
Biggest issue was barrels. Hatsan barrels are crap, you can get a decent one & then get one where the pellet will nearly free fall through the bore.
If you were lucky enough to get the original Walther 12.75 barrel you were usually good, not so much if you got a Hatsan barrel.
the stock is lovely, best thing about the Hatsan Longbow. Mine took a bit of fitting (with advice from Loganator) but not to challenging.

Please could all of you tell me what pellets you all use in the Tomahawk?
If yours has the Lothar Walther barrel, then they're not too fussy at all.

I've had great success with H&N FTT, Bisley LRG and even new Wasps (400 pellet tin) - thinking about it, these are all made by H&N anyway.

Even Crosman Ultra Magnum.
Like I say not too fussy upto 30m, which is my normal shooting range.

Mine's a .22

Thank you only just seen your reply, how do I tell which barrel it has ? I have been using Crosman and superdome pellets.
It is .22

Seeing as this is a Longbow appreciation thread I'm going to ask for some opinions.

I am considering selling my Longbow, I'm not decided yet but due to some personal circumstances I may need to move it on.

As much as it's appreciated I'm not looking to be talked out of it, the decision is mine & I will make it. I love this gun so it's not a rash decision if I do sell.

The Longbow in question is in this thread. It's a brummie with I was assured factory internals.
it works so well that I have not stripped it at all.
The bluing is as close to immaculate as dammit.

It is a .22 & shoots really nicely. It sits in an immaculate walnut thumbhole SE stock. It is nicely figured, not earth shattering but nice.

Now the thing is I also have the original beech stock. It has one mark on the cheek piece but otherwise is a lovely condition stock.

So how much do you think it's worth in the SE stock?
How much is it worth in the beech stock?
Which stock option is more desirable?
How much if I sell the rifle with both stocks?

This is an unmolested example & I am the 2nd owner. It will come with the original barrel muzzle attachment, not with the deleted member silencer unless it is desired & a price will be sorted but separately from the gun.

Thanks in advance for any help/estimates.

Heres my threesome. A prototype Venom Cobra and 2 Tomahawks. All are Venom lazaglided. All have walnut stocks. 1x .177 12Ftp, 1x .22 FAC, 1 time .22 12Ftp. For pellets I use JSb or Hades in the FAC, lazapell/FTT/SN1 in the .177 and JSB in the Cobra

Neither are easy, let alone inexpensive, to come by here in the States but I'd like to add a UK built Tommy to the collection someday if money allows and now thanks to you enablers, a Longbow too.
Sadly all I have are Turk built Tomahawks, which although pretty, are nothing like your UK built gems.

Shows us some of the best of Webley & Scott, namely Longbow and it's bigger brother, the mighty Tomahawk !

(Omega, Vulcan, Stingray, etc. as fantastic as they are, will have to start their own thread...)

Mine is a beech stocked .22 that served it's first owner well, in a flour mill near York, liquidating rats.

Drove a couple of hours to get the twangiest, buzziest airgun ever, as the freshly ground flour had found it's way inside, removing any trace of lubrication!

@the logun-ator did a great job sorting out the action and the trigger
@DM80 provided a slim-tec silencer
@parcelforce managed to remove a small patch of bluing on the cylinder whilst throwing it around (my heart still aches)

It's wearing a period correct EB Gold glass and an absolute pleasure to own and shoot!

Let's see yours...

Lovely gun

Sorry to bring this back up.
Do all the Longbow SE's have the cap at the bottom of the pistol grip? I've seen one with the the flying Bullet stamped into it.

Photograph attached showing my Longbow SE pistol grip. Don't know about all of them but mine has the flying bullet stamped into the end cap

Thank you, that is what I have seen, is that a Birmingham model?
I may be wrong but I believe all production SE stocked Longbows were post Birmingham. I purchased an aftermarket SE stock for my Brummie Longbow.
