I recently purchased an MTM Case-Gard High Low shooting table. The option to use it from a standing position being a particularly attractive feature. The versatility and build quality are excellent unfortunately a warning label specifically states that it should not be used on hard surfaces. Oh dear! I researched as best I could beforehand but this was not mentioned anywhere I looked. Before I return it I was wondering if anyone else had found a way around this e.g. rubber feet, carpet, velcro straps etc. and if so how successful was this. I have a query raised with both MTM and Redbeck supplies but don't anticipate a particularly quick response. My brief examination indicates that the issue is that the legs are not braced and depend upon the pointed feet being pressed into the ground to keep them in place.

It might be to do with the legs spreading.
If used on a hard surface you'd probably need, in addition to the rubber feet, some webbing, between all three legs, so that they don't slide apart.
Either that or a tripod dolly.

Yes I believe that's the case so I'm not convinced rubber feet will be sufficient. Had to look up "Tripod Dolly" and yes that may work.

Cough, wrong forum. J/k

But 100% correct. Due to the compromises on build/weight/price balance lots of these tables may spread out under the weight. I have done a lot of research (as I was going to buy one) but don’t have first hand experience (as I didn’t, or at least haven’t yet).

Sorry to be that person..

Got a picture?

Never knew you could get such a thing, great that.

The legs are easily sorted with straps in between often seen of other tripods.

It wouldn't stop me getting one.

Yes this is the one. I have looked at Tripod Leg Spreaders but they are as expensive as the table (hyperbole). Straps may be the answer but I am having difficulty finding something "universal". They tend to be made for specific tripods and it's not always clear how they attach.

Thanks but this has already been clarified and confirmed so not sure what extra information you are contributing other than an alternative supplier. I have seen it for £149 (after I bought mine), can't remember where but it may be worth shopping around

I wouldn't think any more :). An ironing board does not have the range of height adjustment and does not come anywhere near being as stable.
Only joking, Have you thought about it as well?
Mig welder and some steel conduit may sort it,anything s possible to save money.

I've actually tried it. Fine if you have a welder but as with many DIY jobs if you don't have the tools it can be more expensive.
