This afternoon after a bit of faffing about in my workshop . i thought i would have a session shooting some groups.
there was a bit of a breeze but at least the wet stuff held off .
Any jsb 10.34s-4.52 at 25yards

Ive speeded the video up a touch and knocked off the sound .

3 targets all told . the pellets were straight from the tin which was from 2021.

🤔 Mmmmmmm .
better pellets or better rifle

Nice groups, and the rifle looks lovely.👍
What,in my ignorance, international work have you undertaken mate?
Morning Chap .
Ive done a job on my trigger . making modified trigger parts from grade 9 titanium. bottom sear and a totally new rear sear with revised lever points .

the action its self is running a 97 type rear guide . the piston has milled slots and standard seal .
the stroke is standard .
the cylinder is where ive been mainly playing .
the other week i was playing with transfer port seal lengths . making a slightly longer one on the lathe.
when testing the rifles trigger mods i noticed something was different. it not only sounded different ( it had gained a click ) it also felt different.
so me being me did a few checks and found the forward motion of the rifle had changed .
and the click was coming from the loading arm
Anyway me being never content to sit in the box and looking at the walls . i sodded off up on the hill in the next field and sat looking back at the box .

🤔 Mmmmmm .
gears turned ........... trigger release ....rifle drives backwards off the piston launch . ....piston hits end of cylinder rifle goes forward.
So ...part one ..action /reaction .. part two..action /reaction
part two had slightly change which i put down to the longer breech seal .
the click that was coming from the loading arm got me thinking .
the cylinder is pulled forward by the loading arm . it hold the cylinder forward with the back edge .
the click told me the cylinder was moving forward on firing .
🔦 examining a few things and engineers blue later . 🤔 ................................. 💡 i can use this.

so i stripped the rifle and measured up the cylinder .
then did some working out . then the cylinder went in the lather for its nose to be shortened. that done
out came the PU90 bar and i machined up its new cylinder bump stop which fits in the forward end around the barrel . the tp seal and the amout off the cylinder are balanced to give me the bump stop thickness then with a small mod to the loading lever . so i dont stress the barrel in anyway closing the underlever but allowing the cylinder to move forward .

it took some time to work it all out but i got there in the end .

Anyway Im still testing and have a few more ideas to try out . but so far the results are to be honest bloody amazing.
Im well happy 🙂👍

Great shooting buddy. .. which leads me to ask what happened to the post? You got giant woodworm up there or something? 😁
You mean down here mate . my target hold stand . some times when i change pellets . i chuck some shots at the wood work to see if there is much change before i set about a target .

If i shot a bunch of groups with my HW77 id be happy to get 1 as good as any of these! Fantastic 👏👏
Thanks mate 🙂 Ive been waking up stuff i did long ago since i retired .
I just fancied going a bit mad with a newer 77 where back in the day i used to tune the older long barreled 77 .
Its also nice to see my head still works 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

That's impressive from any gun, but from a boinger? Bloody hell 😱, I dont suppose you fancy sorting my Superstar out any time soon, do you?😁👍😂😂😂😂
Thats why i knocked the sound off on the video . i didn't want anyone knowing what i was shooting 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
i wonder how many thought it was a pcp 😉
heres the first minute of a 5 minute odd video with the sound .

I understood some of that, I'm looking at my hacksaw, lump hammer and chisels and wondering how to set about achieving similar results on my Superstar 🤔😂😂😂😂

Not bad groups for standers mate 😊
Tiz a springer mate . thats all that matter .
I wanted to keep the power and get better accuracy without going down the low power . short stroke route . so it was time for me to find myself a solution.
As the saying goes . power is nothing without accuracy.
