Will hopefully post a Frankenstein-esque resurrection thread about this tomorrow as from Dad's gleeful messages he's managed to re-assemble the veritable box of bits I left him with, but I know the one bit I don't have is the scope mounts to fix to the mounting rail.
How have people worked around this? -Finding genuine Theoben gas ram scope mounts either singles or the one piece Dampa seems to be the equivalent of a Holy Grail Crusade. The listings on eBay showing them turn out to just be for the allen screws, and other listings are for similar looking ones but for the Rapid's. I've been told it *might be possible to strip / grind down a Sportsmatch Dampa mount to use, but as I haven't found any online content showing either how this is done or how successful it could be don't fancy throwing £100 at a gamble and quite a lot of swarf.

What I have seen listed, often from China, are scope base mount rails, often weaver / picatinny, that just look to be a flat rail with mounting screw holes in. Has anyone tried fitting one of these to the pre-existing holes in the rail block?

I know SWM Engineering were doing a weaver adaptor that just screwed on which would be perfect, but their website appears to be down or has dissapeared??? There's an odd "Coming Soon" page displayed in its place.

The bolt on type, still appear to be available for 30mm tubes, from Sportsmatch but personally, I'd try and hunt down some original 25mm tubed ones by way of wanted ads
You'd need to check whether these mounts will fit the rammer rail as I can't remember whether the rammer ones were different

Thanks @P8X , I'm seeing the Rapid ones alot, but nothing anywhere that mentions if they fit the rammers. There's a set on eBay for just under £95 that I enquired about, and was told they also came from a Rapid.
SWM Engineering haven't gone bust have they? Sods law that I saw the adaptors they were making, made a mental note to come back and order a set and now the website seems in limbo.

Hi
I simply can't remember as it been about 8 years since I had an old fixed mounts Fenman

@maxtich would you be able to advise here please? Will the Rapid bolt on mounts fit the Theoben rammer base blocks?
Ta Rob

Just on the Eliminator, @Mrs. H I'm very jealous. Always wanted an Eliminator in sub12 but never managed to come across one for sale. They're a fine looking rifle

Hi Anne
It would appear SWM no longer trade

Hi
I’ve had an Fac Eliminator ..lovely stock, beautifully deep blueing..but a bugger to shoot/load accuracy..I couldn’t get on with it.
The mounts were Dampa and I’m sure they wouldn’t fit the Rapid platform st8 on.
I’m sure clever machinist could modify them but Not sure.
Il check once home and see if my Slr88 & Slr 98 mounts are compatible !
Thanks Rob👍

Recently sold a mint bought new iliminator in .22 of course it came with the 1” damper mount as standard. Years ago I wanted to put on a 30mm tube scope and from memory was told 2 piece rapid mounts would fit. Was intresting removing the 2 countersunk screws that hold the dampa mount as theoben must have used a decent load of stud lock on them. The sportsmatch rapid mounts did fit but they are 2 piece and have no damper to them. I could be wrong but there was something about the threads into the receiver being 2 BA ??

Ok I’ve got Slr88 and Rapid mounts side by side..
Slr ones are slimmer but a machinist could trim rapid ones to fit as the screw and holes that hold mounts appear to be the same.
Hope this helps!

@maxtich thank you very much for taking the time to do this. A few people are searching through dusty attic drawers to see if they can find any old sets but at least I know a set of Rapid ones can be used.

Bisley sell 13mm dovetail mounts i have them on my 1980 HW35/
The Old HWs Theoben / BSAs and cz american rinfires run 13mm ish mounts.

I have seen 13mm and 19mm mentioned but never seen any evidence of it other than the rail you can buy to put on the Rapid and its 13mm .

You have to use their rings as @maxtich has shown .

@Courtney on here had some made and a UK based shop was supposed to be stocking them .

Some say the Theoben Damapmount can be used with the base off the mount . I have a Dampamount and a fixed mount Theoben but I don't fancy taking my Dampamount apart. Sportsmatch may be able to advise if it does fit but it may limit you you to certain scopes .

Theoben made a Dampamount for the fixed mounts . Its the one on the right.

When I fitted the sportsmatch rapid 7 ones to the gun I had I carnt remember having any problem fitting them to the receiver Iam sure they where TMB-3 product code. They did have 2 holes in each mount but you can only use 1 for each mount. And as I said previous pretty sure the reciever thread was 2 BA. a bit odd but !!

I have sent Sportsmatch an email to ask if they still do anything suitable; if they don't maybe they could consider doing so as there's clearly a market.

Good point Bighit and great to have the pictures
It would be handy if some had a old Dampamount and disassembled it it and checked to see if it fitted . You could cut the the middle out and have two rings if the full thing did not fit .

Bushwear has the rapid 30mm rings TMB3 that may fit with some work.

I thought this rifle had a 13mm block fixed on the receiver, just mentioned the bisley because they were £13 worked om my hw35 old one.
It all looks a bit dedicated to Eliminator to me, for what its worth if i were in this sittuation wanted it trick and cheap enough to be practical, i would get a solid hilver lock in base its got enough meat in it to mill out to the cylinder radius and screw it down lock in some hilver rings on to the stubs. you can but lock on dovetail bases to take the same lock in rings.
There is always the eagle vision base picatiny route but probably not the desired look just saying, a bit of machining to fit but wont break the bank and the scope is not going anywhere anytime soon. cheap? Go Hilver base and lock ins . YOMV
Ps Get the twist lock base and rings not the screws on the upright rings, the whole show is steel not alloy will need drilling after milling to the radius to line up with the eliminator holes. 25m on my Bridgeport mill max.
