Went down to my local club the other day and, as usual a few empty pellet tins knocking about the cabin. Left by the usual suspects who can't be arsed to take their own rubbish home. Anyway, picked up an unusually small pellet tin and it was almost full. Well, that was a surprise. Checked the lid and saw they were .22 pointed pellets, oh well, not that good. Checked the make and name, RWS Hypermax, never heard of them but RWS do make some good ammo. Checked the weight, 9.9gr, oh dear, lead free. Checked the price from Wolfman, yikes, £16.45 for 150 pellets. Me and my mate had a .22 rifle with us, HW97 for my mate and Kalibrgun Argus 45 for me. Let's try them out then, ha ha ha, that's why they were left. Shot at a target about 30yds away and they went straightish for about 25yds, then abruptly veered off, every one in a different direction. My mate didn't have any better luck with the 97 either.
Thank goodness we don't have to shoot these abominations through our barrels now that the proposed lead ban has been dropped. I did leave the tin for some other poor soul to try and/or maybe have a laugh.
