On Monday I completed a repair on a reximex ixia, the problem with it was a failing fill valve so I got the new connector and O ring, sat and fitted them then pressurised to 50 bar and left it to see if any loss was evident, after a couple of hours no loss so I put 100 bar in it and sprayed some leak detector on the repair, no bubbles and a couple of hours later still no loss.
So more pressure,up we go to 200 bar, bubble test is fine so pressure gauge marked with masking tape and put the gun behind the settee for a soak test.
Up to bed at about 2130 and left Ms Martini watching Believe Me on catch up, I was woken a bit later by a screaching Ms Martini.
The air bottle O ring seems to have failed while the gun was soak testing and gave her a bit of a start.
I have now replaced the O ring and its sat fine at 200 bar again but apparently they do whistle a bit.
Not the first gun I have seen do this but it makes you think about guns with bottle connectors near the face.

Did Mrs Martini finish watching Believe Me after that? Yeah pressured air can be dangerous. The amount of times i have seen someone pull a fill probe out without opening the bleed valve and gave themselves a fright.

I've not done that and l assume it can happen with the quick disconnect type filler?
Sometimes l wonder about the probe types with 2 'O' rings 'popping out' when filling but part of me thinks that the air pressure keeps it in really tight.
l'm not about to test that by trying to pull it out under pressure though!
Any thoughts on that?

If you change your mind and do test it please video it and upload here.

"Bleed valve first please!!" Is a common shout out at our club office. All probationers have it drummed into them high pressure air safety.
