So my Steyr Prox was shooting erratically today on the chrono. Decided it needed a service by Steyr and speaking to them there may be a regulator issue. I need to send it back to Steyr through an RFD. They want £70. I know there is packaging, postage and Insurance but that is steep.
They initially wanted to send it back and charge a markup for the repair as well but I said that I would deal with Steyr and just wanted them to send it. They eventually agreed.

wow that sounds expensive, are there any other RFD's local to use?

Where are Steyr bassed?

thems fighting words!

ah that's a shame, post by RFD my be the only option then :( have you tried any other RFDs?
No but I might do tomorrow. If they only want £50 it’s not worth the hassle as I deal with this RFD. I had to persuade them to just charge postage.

Part of the cost may be insurance .An RFD can enhance the insurance whereas the public cant unless sending it via special deliver but most airguns can got SD unless stripped to meet the size limits.

I would be asking for enhanced insurance for a £2k plus value rifle .

I was quoted £40 for upto £2500 but im not sure if that was the RFDs total cost so it may have been more than the £40 quoted.
