Hi all,

I've just bought myself a Reximex Tormento/Myth .22 with <17 Joules of Power.

Now where I live the max allowed power is <24 Joules, so with that in mind...

I can buy the Reximex HP tuning valve for the Daystar, Tormento and Accura PCP airguns from the same store I bought my Tormento in Poland.

The problem I see that I will have is that with this tuning valve the airguns max power is going to be 42.3 Joules!

My question is, if I was to find out the correct diameter of the hole to give out say 23 Joules (just to play it safe), would it then be a simple case of boring out the "power" valve which comes with the airgun?

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I only sent it as I came across it the other week thought it might be useful. I got a reximax myth but wouldn't now sorry can't see anyone in the UK having a myth on fac so you might struggle to get what your asking for

Funny enough I saw that video about 2 weeks ago too. My problem is over here and the 24 Joule rule and as the shop mentioned the tuning valve, it got me thinking that all that is needed is to widen the one that come with the airgun itself.

24 Joule is about 17ftlb if im correct?
Having stripped down a few reximex rifles including a myth I can tell you now that its not going to be hard to do what you want.

Without trying to breach any rules, what I can tell you is that as standard the rifle has a longer spring from the factory. This is normally cut (and not very well) by RR when they get imported into the UK to bring them down to sub 12. Before you go down the route of opening up valves and transfer ports I would try and get an original length spring first and take it from there. The factory adjuster on the side has a hole large enough anyway so that is not going to be any restriction from memory.

Also as standard as far as I know at least in the UK the myth come with a standard blanking plate with no adjustment.
However if you can get hold of the same part from a pretensis these normally have a screw adjustment and fit without any modification.
This may also help when fine tuning.

Yes, it's around 17 FtLbs, not much more than the UK, but I think it'll make a bit of difference.

It will be interesting to see that about the spring because I have bought mine from a Polish store for a rather good price (€346.00 NEW).

It's from the same store as I can get the other valve item which they say gives the airgun the full factory power of 42+ Joules (for the .22s). I will be seeing if in fact the hole in the one that comes with the airgun is in fact smaller than the tuning valve and if so, somehow try to find the correct diameter that will give just under the 24 Joule mark then drill out the original valve. Hope that makes sense.

Further to what's been said here, I have just come across the following:

"Reximex PCP Hi Power Valve

Reximex PCP Hi Power Valve for Daystar
, Tormenta/Lite , and Accura models . Replacing the standard valve with the Hi Power valve achieves the manufacturer's stated maximum power and velocity for the respective calibers. If you're unfamiliar with this replacement, we recommend seeking expert assistance.

Steps to make the replacement:

  1. Unscrew the Allen screw
  2. Pull out the silver pin
  3. Remove the standard valve
  4. Insert the hi power valve
  5. Put the silver pin back on
  6. Screw in the Allen screw
For models equipped with a pressure regulator , to increase power, in addition to changing the valve, you can also adjust the regulator to the preferred BAR value. We do not recommend the maximum setting to avoid excessive wear on the seals.

* The valve replacement guarantees increased power on Reximex models already prepared by the manufacturer for legal tuning in EU countries where the modification is permitted by law and is legal, including Poland. All Reximex models sold by us are already prepared for power tuning upon specific request to the Reximex manufacturer by simply replacing the valve. We do not guarantee that the valve replacement will work on identical or similar models sold or purchased elsewhere in other countries. Before purchasing, make sure that your model is compatible with the modification."

As I mentioned before, my Myth/Tormenta came from Poland so it's going to be interesting to see what happens.
