Just been out in the garage having a tidy up and ended up playing around with the spare barrel shroud for the mito...
The holes for the grub screws that secure it to the barrel are 125mm centre to centre and it got me thinking...
If I find a bit of picatinny rail section long enough/with matching holes or that can be drilled to fit, putting picatinny rail on there would open up a whole world of new possibilities.
Not least if the same can be done on the rear dovetail section and with shims/washers/a spacer to bring the two rails level....
I chucked that bit on there just to see what it would look like and I don't reckon it's too bad, obviously would look better on the black shroud that's now on mine and if it was full length would also cover the slot when you remove the front sight.

I'm not entirely sure how this 3D printing lark works, I assume you need a computer file or an existing design to work to to print something?
Do you reckon a 3D printed picatinny rail that slides over the existing dovetail and uses the grub screw holes to lock on is possible?

I have tried a couple of dovetail to picatinny adapter prints that I’ve found and they are pretty terrible. I’ve not tried designing one myself as I just bought a couple of metal ones.I'll be ordering one from you at the end of this week

You need the files to print them. Though if it’s on Makerworld I can print them from my phone. I upload my files for prints there so I can print from my phone. Though the ones I’m selling I mark private so only I can make them.

Selling on eBay is always a pita so I don’t have any current plans to do so.
The pic rails are my design. I tried many others, I even bought some designs from people to try and they all either didn’t fit or were completely loose. So I spent weeks drawing and making ones. I suck at design and this is probably my only good design.
I don’t see an issue with printing things people request from public designs so long as I don’t charge for the design but for the time and materials to do the print. So let’s say the moderators for instance. Not my design so I only charged for the printing.

You;d think so, but in reality its a minefield. What this actually falls afoul of is the "Unauthorised Sourcing" angle. Just as you shouldn't be able to sell a used item as new, you shouldnt sell other peoples items even if you manufacture them and the designs are online unless you're commercially covered. If people want you to print things for them, then they need to source them for you. A dumb technicality? of course. However, If you get caught doing it its the same as just getting caught ripping them off entirely if the person that made the model wants to punish you for it.
Don't take this as me bitching about people breaking arbitrary rules. I'm not pointing this out to be a dick. Gun modding via 3D printing is a huge opportunity for people with the ability and skills to improve guns or even devlop new stuff, especially in the UK where doing this stuff is locked down more than most other places. I would very much like it if it stayed that way, along with the people who have said skills to stick around and not get absolute curbstomped by some angry modder because they dared to print something for someone else.

@PartTimeLegend , finally got round to fitting the dust plug , goes excellently with the brass mod adapter . Next is to try a bipod on the piccatiny rail .

Thats nice, where did you get that brass mod adapter from? I might try make one for mine.
I have made a mod adapter thread protector which I leave on anyway when not using a mod and shooting.
I gave it a mild knurling, think I will make some more, knurled and just polished and stick them in the sales thread in case of interest to cover material and postage.
