Removing lens cap on hik micro 4k lite

Can you take an image inside the cap looking towards lens?
There might be a retaining ring as used by others (Pard)

Mnn, does not look to be a simple ring like Pard uses, that looks to be a more substantial part of the lens assembly.
I'll stand down, wait for someone else with more info.

--edit--
They seem to be about £11 on the store, https://www.hikmicroassist.co.uk/store for the value of the scope I'd be half temped to get a spare and inspect it before trying too hard to remove.

You need a lens spanner...like this... Otherwise, you will risk scratching the lens or damaging the bezel
See the two slots on the lens bezel...that is where you fit the spanner and turn
[Edit] sorry, I mixed up the lens and lens cap....ignore this

Yep..just had another look and that’s for the actual lens removal !
I think it is just a clip on one .
And as old stock has said I think I’ll order another one .

Thanks ,yeah I’ll order another one but it does look like they just clip on and off .

Did you manage to remove yours successfully?
Pondering on doing mine, however done want to mess too much as got the thin reticle problem and want to see if there is a firmware fix before I decide if it is fit for purpose or not. Shame because with the lens cap closed the rets are clear. Might try the hole in middle of a cap trick from above to see if it helps, if I can get the OE cap off easily :-)

I damaged mine removing it and the little magnet popped out never to be seen again. They clip in and even though I was quite gentle it bent when prying it out, ended up buying another.

Further info, just done as suggested above, twisted while pulling firmly. One clippopped off then the other too. Was a slightly twitchy moment though.
Going to try to find another cap that will fit over and drill the small hole in it to see if I can clarify the reticle a bit.
Luckily my maga nut is still in place.
Thanks for the help folks.

I have ended up using a bigger push on cap that goes over the hik cover when needed, that way I don't need a hole in the hik cover. Wish I had thought of it before I broke the first and wasted money buying a new one haha

Just searched through all my end caps, they were all over the place.
Anyway, got the OE cover off and found a cap that is a gentle push fit over the Parallax ring.
This means I can still adjust focus while using the little hole cover.
Bonus to this is I expect with the smaller hole it will make the depth of fielg greater, like F stops on a camera.
Anyway, I will try it out and report back on how I get on.
The objective is 2 Birds 1 stone. Increase depth of field and make diopter clearer.

I’ve drilled and left the original one on
But bought another for spare .

Hi chaps, what's the reason for drilling the cap? Are you trying to let less light in to the lense ? I've just got an alpex lite so curious.

Cheers

It reduces the aperture, letting less light in and in doing so increases the depth of field, reducing the need to refocus the scope so often.

I am also hoping with less light coming in it will make the reticle easier to see. I am having difficulty with seeing mine in bright sun.
Hopefully try to drill the hole in a bit and report back.

Done it.
Few problems, first remember how to find the middle of a circle
Next, could only find a 5mm drill, was going to try going up in steps.

Anyway, it has increaed the depth of field so not quite so much focusing needed.
Not got definative measurements but without it, bottom of garden (approx 40 yds) poor focus
With the small hole good focus, not sure what the scope is focused for at the moment
Obviously not as bright, which seems a good thing.
Not sure about Reticle unfortunately, initially good but once I had opened and closed the cap a couple of times not so sure.

More testing needed but a step on testing.
Ideally of course it would be best not to have to adapt the scope but this was fairly simple to do.

Would be interested in anyone else's results if they try it.
Sorry, I know this is a fair step on from the OP.
