Recommissioning a Stealth

Here is another gratuitous Stealth picture its my 4th rescue job and is fitted with a regulator a slightly longer barrel and a power adjuster on the side.
Very nice. How effective is the power adjuster on those?

Its easy to strip and then reassemble them its the balancing out the non regulated guns I've had most problems with. But the ones I've had have all been fiddled with and 2 of them came in carrier bags and a third one had the safety played with and the daft sod who sold it to me wasn't using the trigger to fire it but the safety, and he thought that was OK. That was the only one that beat me as I sold it without the safety operating, the guy who bought it said he had a few and one of his other guns didn't have a safety. I searched high and low for a replacement sear but never found one, even Geoff at Gunpowder didn't have any spares as it was a very early gun and the sears or parts of them changed through the years.
Now I have fitted a reg to one I wouldn't hesitate to do it again if I had another, you get more consistent shots and the power doesn't fluctuate.

I'll check in the morning as a little drunk right now as dad passed away this morning so calipers (eyes)not so good

I bought one new last year. Really liked the simplicity of it. The only thing I did to it was to locktite the top hat in place.

I have since ordered the Ali Express regulator and a 300ml bottle to keep the reach down. The useable shots before the power drops off is terrible. Especially when it comes with a 500ml bottle.

The main thing that smoothed mine out was the barrel guided hammer. Much improved / smooth cocking and more consistent firing.
Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one if they're available to buy. Did I read in your thread that you made your own though?

Well, I managed to get it all back together relatively easily thanks to all the great info and helpful pointers on here. I did spend a frustrating 20 mins trying to work out why it wouldn't cock before realising I'd managed to put the breech in back to front...doh!

The chickens don't look particularly impressed but they're a tough crowd.

Setting up the reg was pretty simple and the chrono says it's now running at around 11.3fpe. I've only measured using the mini bottle that came with the regulator so far though. I managed to get the squashed bottle cover back on by clamping in a woodwork vice overnight then gently warming it up with a heat gun. Just need to zero the scope, get some pellets through it now and see how consistent it is.

Thanks for all the help (y)
