RD sights

do you have the sight or looking for suggestions on one ?

Be aware not everyone can use them due to their eyesight . It is always worth looking through any you may intend to buy just in case you get any of the issues below. I found I have dodgy eyesight with them and some are worse than others . I saw a comet (the dot with a tail) when i looked through them .

Some sights are poorly made and it may be the sight that has the issue and not you.
To test its your eyes and not the sight you can try this.

How to Test Your Sight:
To determine if the issue is your eye or the optic, take a photo of the reticle with your phone camera. Because cameras do not have astigmatism, a crisp image in the photo indicates your eye is causing the distortion

I have no medical training however believe I do not have astigmatism (outline distortion), the shooting range on the other hand is becoming an issue. Any target out further than several metres is losing its sharpness viewed without magnification assistance, therefore interested in low mag RD sights, looking for recommendation basically please?

If it's not for a pistol look at prismatic sights, I have a vector Paragon 4x24, very good.

My eyes are goosed. Sitting in the garden with the P17 target shooting and when I aim my eyes blur over so I have to wait and try again. I can’t really fit a red dot due to the way it closes. 2240 has a red dot fitted but not used it yet.

There's ample room, at least for me. Here's my P17, with a Red Dot/Reflex sight fitted. I have removed the rear open sights, so that it doesn't dig into my hand, and there is still ample room on the rail to move the sight further forward.

My red dot is a bit bigger than that. Like the idea of removing the rear sights but then again I like the open sights on the p17.

I have a red dot similar to that one but the dot is more like a red blur instead of a dot. Saying that it was a eBay cheaply. What make is that one?

Low profile RD, 2MOA, variable brightness (lower the better for astig) blob of hot glue for comfortable cocking… I’ve also put a spotlight (daylight LED) over my target holder which helps with contrast and lessens the blur (imo)

I only fairly recently ended up with glasses along with astogmatism, I hadnt even considered this being a problem for IR sites,
fortunately the sight I went with has 11 adjustments for ‘brightness/intensity’ at 11 I cant use it, just looks like a fireball covering half the target 🤣 6 or 7 is the sweet spot (without glasses) I dont tend to use the sight with glasses on, open sites I have to use the glasses no hope otherwise, the barn door is safe.
This is with my hawke L4A Dot 1-4, great little sight.

Edit: sorry wasnt sure if you were looking for rifle or pistol

With the back of the sight in line with the back of the "ejection port" I've found that there is enough room to close the gun with the edge of my hand without pressing on the rear sight.
