Rat Works HFT 500

Personally I'd stick with factory.

Not owned a HFT500, but I've owned many S400/410/510,s and all have been excellent in standard form.
But, it's your money :)
I think I’ve just become more ‘comfortable’ having regulated air rifles, including my S510 USR. It might just be psychological but I’ll take any helpline can shooting HFT 😁

The HFT500 doesn't need a regulator fitted. Just time spent learning the rifle. Once you know it's sweet spot it's as good as any rifle fitted with a regulator and more than enough shots within the sweet spot to shoot what I need. Just my opinion
Cheers,
Shawn
Thanks for commenting…I get what you’re saying but I’ve always wanted an excuse to buy a rifle from Rat Works since Si Pittington was promoting them, so their HFT 500 could be the excuse I need, if it’s worth it 😁

The addition of a regulator to the HFT500 has been discussed several times in several threads on this forum. I believe the general consensus was and is the rifle works well without one and not much to be gained by the addition of a regulator. But I will stand corrected if anyone can prove different. All I can say I can shoot two courses with mine with the rifle remaining within it's sweet spot.

IMO the hft500 doesn’t need a regulator BUT like a lot of things some do fit one because they can .
Me and @The Doctor had a fiddle and play with one . He did some trigger work and I smashed a lane reg into it .
I think it was very consistent and had a fairly good shot count . Very accurate .
I say think as I did the donkey work and handed it straight to him to do his trigger fiddling stuff so didn’t do any extended testing .
Of course he sold it ! These target shooter types are a little twitchy and change rifles as often as I change my grundies…..😁

There you go. How can you accept something as being a valid promotion when it comes from someone who can't even promote their own name without getting it wrong. Shrug tt🤣
Orrr man, the OP started it. He called him Pittington first and I'm actually commenting on a wrong name. My bad or does Pottington exist?
