Apologies if this has been asked before, I have searched the forum but found no answer. I have recently started shooting air guns again after a break of a decade or so. I have been looking into pellets to do some testing on my rifle and have come across qiang yuan pellets. I haven’t heard of these previously, what are peoples experiences of using these pellets? Are they worth a try? Or are they a rebrand of another available pellet?

Very well made and consistent, group very well in many guns. Their downside is that (in .177) they tend to have a more curved trajectory than equivalent JSB pellets. This means that, despite their quality, they are not especially popular for FT.

Streamlined in the heavier options seem to do better than domed for me, sadly I stopped buying them. At one point the importer enforced minimum pricing levels of just under £15/tin and refused to supply anyone who didn’t agree to price fix, same if you didn’t have a physical store. That sounded way too much like illegal price fixing to me, and I refused to deal with any supplier who played along, including at least one well thought of supplier with a trade forum on here.

Wow. While I don’t mind paying for quality (you get what you pay for) that seems very steep. It’s a shame that kind of thing happens. Well done for standing by your morals.

Price depending, it looks like I’ll have to give them a try. See if my .177 springer likes them. Thanks all for your reply’s.

Yep my R10 loves them!
I tested quite a few when I first got it, with JSB heavies coming out the clear winner. Used them for a couple of years then tried QYS...

It felt like I had unlocked a cheat code. Almost felt like an unfair talent boost, lol!

Buy one tin and try them in the wind at whatever your maximum distance is before you buy any more......

I was given a pack of 500 in plastic tub at the range about 4 yr ago by the local gunshop manager, Streamline 8.48. Thought Chinese pellets free in a plastic tub?
About 9 months ago I opened them and shout to 45yd couldn't believe the groups in my Steyr100 and 9015 superb, the best of the best in my pellet box containing 30 tins of assorted pellets.
Not believing what Happened I passed 10 pellets anonymously to a couple of other shooters and the response was what the heck are they! All were amazed at the groups, next week all had a tin from the shop that gave the to me!

Stil have tthe original tin used as a benchmark against other pellets. Newer tins just dont have the edge these had. But still a credible 'premium' pellet.

Very well made pellets but like any pellet your barrel may not like them but they do work well in most guns and are very accurate

very well made very accurate if your barrel likes them , my ripper groups very good with them and a 6.4fps std deviation . drop 2" lower than JSBs at 55 yards and the wind takes them more at 50 - 55 yards
