Does anyone have a source for cheap APS3(?) batteries for the Pulsar thermals? Ive seen some on Ali Express priced at £22 but they cant be shipped to the UK. £40+ seems a lot for what i'm guessing is a 18650 in a different frock.

One of mine went dead in warranty
Ian replaced it for me.After sending it to him at my cost.
If/when they die again Ill have it apart for look see.
Extortionate price to replace!

They are what they look like
Either an off the shelf 18650 or 21700 lithium ion rechargeable battery in proprietary plastic case with proprietary electrical connections

Cheers

Bruce

Has anyone taken the battery pack out? and what does it look like...I maybe able to help rebuild it.
Post a picture with dimensions please.

I guess you would need the old plastic shell and wire up to the socket at the front,
Just guessing! What do I know! Shrug tt

There are no genuine sources for cheap Pulsar batteries
If you buy Pulsar, you buy into being ripped off for batteries

Cheers

You may pay more for the batteries but the equipment is generally far superior to any of their rivals. Better resale value and superior image quality is worth paying for. That’s obviously my opinion. Others will disagree.

Digex and Thermion models ranging from £1000-£6200 in price , average spare battery price £36-£39 , when your spending thousands this cost is paled into insignificance against the product cost.

Telos model batteries are £100 just over, but do not require a charging dock, can be wireless charged and last about 10hrs each. Again the units cost thousands.

Pulsar batteries are high quality / capacity , plus they have integrated battery management within the battery itself. If you use the pulsar dock system and you ever get a battery that doesn't charge, insert into the dock and then quickly remove and replace normally resets and you should see the battery sort of reboot and charge.

It also prevents users putting any old battery into the device, like some of the cheap chinese types that can pose issues... They are expensive but fully sealed and have various safety features, temp cut off, etc built in. Plus if there in your pocket they won't short on keys or coins like a rogue 18650 could... plus you have 12 month warranty.

I have a couple of Pulsar batts, bought new when I bought the Krypton. One lasts longer than the other, but both have been excellent in the 3 years plus I have had it. Used probably every other night for at least 30 mins. I should get another spare from you Ian!

@squirreldropper not sure if this applies to your battery issue?
