So I found this pallet banding trolley poking out of a skip months ago and knew it would come in handy one day ! The eldest G/son recently asked me to make him some kind of holder for his home printed targets and light enough to move about and not involving layers of ply or chipboard that end up a mess. So a mooch behind the garage through my junk reserves and an idea entered the noggin. So a quick trip to get an old used tyre (the tyre guys have to pay to get rid of them so happy to let people take them, use them on lots of projects). Anyway fairly obvious how it went together and there are now 2 layers of carpet at the back of the tyre, covering the backing plate. The dead pellets end up in the trough of the tyre....(mostly). I'm leaving him to give it a couple of coats of paint. It's free to rotate for landscape or portrait view or could get really adventurous and add an old wiper motor and battery and have it spinning ! 😄 Could do something similar with an old sack truck......

Brilliant idea 😊☺️… well done 👍🏻

I've just skip-dived a sack truck and put my wooden backstop on for standing out in the field.
I will make it a bit quieter so I can use it for initial zero in the garden but these 'on wheel' items, that also catch the pellets, seems like something we should all have access to.
I think the push for a lead ban has other motivations, but there is no benefit leaving target/plinking pellets in most locations (IMHO).

Excellent idea great work 👍

Just advise
look at swapping the tyre out for something better if a pellet hits that good chance it will come back faster than it left the barrel

If for any reason you miss watch out as it'll come straight back at you.
I did do a few shots at the tyre before mounting and the energy is absorbed and deforms the pellet and at most the bounce back was about 6 ft, he will be using at 15m minimum but thanks for warning and just to make absolutely sure I can drape it with another offcut of carpet.👍

Nice one mate you can't beat a bit of skip diving, it truly amazes me how much gear gets thrown into them.

Thanks for concern mate, just replied to similar above but noted 👍

I just love improvisation like this.
Thanks mate and others too. It's nice to turn one person's junk into another's treasure so to speak. I made this for a mate for outside of his tyre fitting business, of course using his old tyres complete with a baby milk tin ice bucket.
