Has anybody got advice on how to protect the underside of a gun stock from being damaged or scratched ?
Was thinking along the lines of running a strip of transparent helicopter type polyurethane tape or something similar along the underside.

Don't take this the wrong way, but why are your stocks getting damaged, or why do you think you'll damage them?

when your out in the field you can be resting on anything gates, machines, fence posts etc and even on a bench with bipod botttom of the pistol grip can wear, .... Iv used adhesive rubber you can buy rolls of it 2" wide on ebay cut it how you want and its not permanent 👍

3m clear protective tape is good. I've used it on motorbikes to avoid luggage damaging the paint.

Have you tried to look for a neoprene stock cover. They are offer used when fitting a temporary cheek riser.
Try looking for Garlands neoprene stock cover on eBay.

They aren't,but i have a nice shiny Blackwolf in a nice walnut stock that i don't want to mark up if I was to use it for night time rabbit control and i believe prevention is better than cure so im wondering what other people used to stop accidental damage
