Prostate Cancer

An old friend was diagnosed with a particularly Malignant form of Prostate Cancer well over 10 years ago, nearer to 25 and has the operation to remove it.

I cannot ask him for details to clarify this, as his funeral is a week from today.
The Cancer was nothing to do with his death - heart attack after several years of poor respiratory health.
He was 75, same age as me.

Thankyou for thinking of me Rudolf, Coming to terms with it , restless nights , bit down , waiting for CT scan appt. It has spread a bit to the surrounding muscle tissue, thats our concern now and scan result.
That doesn't sound too wonderful mate - hopefully it can be stopped in it's tracks there 🤞
I hope your mood can lift a bit soon aswell🤞

Good luck and all the best mate 🙂👍

Had Cat scan today , Im very radioactive now , bit worrying as i have 2 geiger counters here at home and they are reading dangerous levels. quite alarming , hope is ok .
Did they give you some aftercare advice about what to do and not do after the procedure mate?

Just to leave hospital asap , keep away from children and pregnant women , and drink lots water.
Ok mate - I'd go with that then 👍
The Geiger counter reading would probably shock most of us a bit but, I guess they're clever folks in that department so, I'd reassure myself that they know what they're doing 🙂

I hope you're test results come back good 🤞
.... Maybe put the kettle on and try to relax well for the rest of the night.

Good luck and, all the best 🙂👍

Hi
I may have this condition , with PSA level of 23
I am awaiting hospital appointment for further tests
Im shit scared

I would like to hear from others going through this nightmare , just to talk to ..

Thank you
Easy to say not to worry, but you can't help worry, My Dad was only being monitored after his dad was diagnosed and since passed away from prostate, he went in for a routine check , psa was 3, and he went in for a camera, they discovered a t1 encapsulated tumour in the prostate, and it was unfortunately very aggressive, it went from t 1 t0 t4 in the 6 weeks from his op. he's had a terminal diagnosis for the last 15 years, he's gone through radio and surgical procedures in this time, he's currently undergoing last chance IV Chemo at the moment, I drove him to his appointment this morning. is it difficult.. yes it is.

What I'll say to you, is and I won't blow smoke up your arse and say it isn't, is that no matter what happens, you are not on your own.
speak to your family, if you are fortunate to have loved ones around you, be open with your feelings, and let people know how you are feeling and what's going on in your mind.
they are as scared as you, that I can speak from experience.
What I will say as one stranger on the internet to another, take each day as it comes, the good and the bad, they gave my dad 2 - 5 years, with a terminal diagnosis, he's the only one left of his clinic, 15 years later.
I have mates who have survived both prostate and throat cancer, my best man at my wedding has lived with bowel cancer for the last 6 years. and apart from one of my mates , who's a right miserable git anyway. they remain generally glass half full. we all have good days and bad.
Live your life, because come what may, we can't do a damn thing about it anyway. Christ on a stick, I could get hit by a bus tomorrow...buy a new gun and treat yourself.

On a serious note, am Happy to chat if you need it.
