Prism scopes

I had a 14x50 IO briefly, not ideal for specs users.

Very nice optically and stable too, impressive on a 14x

I had a Vortex Spitfire HD Gen II 5x and its a cracking little optic. The short eye relief didn't work for me on the Leshiy, but I'm keen to try another Prism Scope at some point.

I've had a Dedal, Spitfire 5x & the regular Immersive 5x30 on a Leshiy Classic. None of them really worked for me.

With the Dedal mounted as far back as possible it was even with the hinge point but I would have liked more eye relief or had it further back. Still the best prism I've had on a Leshiy.

Both the Immersive & the Spitfire had the same problem even when on cantilevered mounts.

I've also had Primary Arms 1x & 2x.

Needless to say I like prism scopes. Look forward to trying the IO 5x30 Pro next.

I assume it will have to hang slightly on a Leshiy but I'm okay with that.

Can you get aftermarket flip-ups for the 14x50 Immersive? If so could you point me in the right direction. Cheers
Probably, but I’m not 100% sure. If it’s any help I simply measured either end of the scope and ordered the relevant sizes off eBay. Mine were just less than £10 inc. P&P for the pair. (y)

You can , Airgun101 have a good selection or get your RFD / Stockist to contact Thomas Jacks the importer .

current scope on my Leshiy is sat back beyond the breaking point with a standard eye relief, so I'm thinking a Prism scope will be a no go for that. Some info on Image quality would also be good.

A prism scope is a good way to go. If I had my time again I would return to the same set up as @Herbie had, which is a Vortex Gen 2 5x prism on the Leshiy Classic. Some people can get away with using it directly on the rail, however my neck wouldn't contort where I needed it to, so some friends of mine came up with a re-enforced pic rail extension, which was reversed. This was rock solid, sat the scope far enough back for good eye relief but did not let the scope go past the breaking point - something that was important to me at the time for no particular reason :) See below.

Another couple of options to consider are the Konus prism scopes - both the 3x and the 2-6. Excellent choices and offer a bit more eye relief....and work great on a leshiy (or other tactical set ups). See below

Has anyone ever tried one on a springer ? I know the zero eye relief ones would give you a nice shiner, but the 5x30 pro for example mentions recoiling rifles.

What sort of magnification are you looking for ?

Most x6 and below have some eye relief albeit short at around 2”/50mm , the new Immersive 5x30 long eye relief model has around 85mm though which is perfect Leshiy classic territory .

All the x10 / x12 / x14 stuff though is zero eye relief .
Around 6 mag, that new Immersive you mention might be just the thing I'm looking for. Thanks for all the info everyone.

John :)

Here’s a couple of pics , both 5x30 but the long eye relief model is on the right , you can see the much larger eyebell which is what is giving you that extra distance as well as a very nice sight picture . You should be getting around 40-50mm from the regular model - 75-85mm from the pro model .
Worth seeking out (perhaps take your rifle with you ) for a closer look .

@Jimmypie, what’s the weight difference between both models you’ve shown please? The long eye relief model looks quite a bit bigger. I can’t seem to glean any info off t’internet.

Well, had to try oneThankyou spinningImmersive optics 5x30 extended eye relief. Perfect Leshiy/bullpup scope. The extra eye relief works really well, the glass is very, very good, and the mildot ret gives plenty of hold over points with IR. Pretty much exactly what I have been looking for, for an age. Cost me a small fortune chopping & changing scopes over time, only problem is I'm going to have to get another one for the ProX once I've saved a few pennies 😊

What are they like for those of us who wear reading glasses.
All my traditional scopes occulars are adjusted so I don't need my glasses. Can I do the same with a prism ?
Cheers
