Predator (1987)

I don’t agree that Predator is a B-movie but the end credits always seem out of keeping with the whole atmosphere to me.

I'm just surprised that some folk don't like the predator films, and I really enjoyed Predator 2, the little details like when Danny Glover gets the old flint lock pistol, showing the predators have been coming for years.
Like most franchises they usually keep going too long and dilute the ideas, but they were great back into 80s/90s

Predator was decent, Predator 2 wasn’t as good, everything else has sucked, they did Predators which was actually decent, then bailed on the timeline and produced something awful a few years back. Prey was… well it’s the third best use of the Predator franchise I have watched, the crossovers haven’t been great either.

The intro & tune is unmistakenly distinctive, it sets the tone. But look closely afterwards, they all predict their own deaths. I'm into double figures easy on watching this film for 30 odd years but recently there's another level opened up, good shit, go on watch it you know you want to

Predator (1987) is one of my all time favourite films. Pure entertainment. I first saw it in the station cinema (RAF St Athan) in 1987. Me and a mate went thinking it was another action movie with mercenaries and were blown away when you realised it was a sci-fi action movie like no other at that time. Just loved it then and I love it now.
Another film that grabbed my attention back then was 'The Final Countdown'. Another truly great sci-fi movie that was unique in my opinion. Both iconic movies had great music too. (y)

I'm not surprised Prey has been getting a lot of support.

It is a thought that has been doing the rounds for a few years:

As for the original. The end credits show how much love was made to make this film. This is why it works so well.

Dark Ages wasn’t bad, certainly better than any of the actual franchise stuff other than Predators. The last few decades have been awful with the Predator since the original and pumped out some absolute dross, with Disney, hopefully the abuse can end and we might actually get more watchable content. Prey was a decent first step, it wasn’t perfect or indeed amazing, but it was a lot better.
