I've finally decided to look what's going on inside my reg.shots are still high and low,and after seeing what was in iceman reg and now talking to a guy in a gun shop about what he's found in regs...it's time..ok iam stripped right down iam looking front on to reg and there are 4 shallow pin holes to un screw the center..has anyone unscrewed this part, any tips please..is the thread still a lefty lucy 🙈...shud I remove it from the gun before I unscrew the center..I have some lengths of leather to try a strap or mole grips 🙉 ..gotta watch that thread..but I don't have the money for a tool at the moment..any ideas greatly appreciated ......I only ask because I don't no....👍👍👍

If the PP700 is similar to the PP750, then this is a good video -

Take tube off pistol (depressurised of course!)
Undo bit with 4 holes (lefty loosey)
Need deep circlip pliers to get the actual reg bit out of the holder.

Thanks its removal is very similar to mine.i tried my circlip pliars, they are a little past it now and not a great fit..but tomorrow I will go out and find a new better fitting pair 👍..lefty lucy Thanks again just checking you never no

I'd like to understand more - what makes you say this? from a quick visual inspection, it looks a lot like the same construction as a Huma reg, so why pants?
have you looked inside ?
check google for all the trouble people have with them failing

Yes, but how many try adjusting it to increase pressure while under pressure, rather than releasing pressure before adjusting.?
Doing it wrong can wreck it.

not on those regs mate .
Adjust to your hearts content without damaging the seal .

They have a poppet valve . operated by a piston .
Different to the pip and nozzle type regs

I sorted mine out a few years ago. Found a thread on a US forum, Gateway to Airguns. It explained how to set the original reg up and a better way to stack the belleville washers, much more consistent now. Sorry, don't have a link but a search should find it.

the std regs are pants mate.
sorry, but they

Could this reason be the way they are put together and under what standards of assembly they have.ive seen what looks like metal shavings and a bucket load of black grease (nearly)removed from the same reg..when it finally settles down its very accurate and consistent, if I could fix the small problem with its inconsistent shots I wouldn't even consider changing to a custom reg ....it just needs a chance

But mine works great. 65 shots at 5.2 ft lbs with hardly any muzzle variation having set up the gun using HAM website method to flatten out start and finish. 3 years and counting.
65 shots per fill is really good Colin..can u tell me please does the size of the exit hole in your transfer port (directly behind pellet)make any difference at all to shot count

Was it this one? Post 13 shows how my Belleville stack is currently set. https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=170095.0 but where's the post showing an alternative stack? Most of the GTA threads are about increasing power, not sorting for sub 6.

I never took it apart so can't help on sizes. Mine is in 0.177. I only adjusted the hammer spring, reg and the grubscrew that adjusts transfer port in accordance with the HAM (Airguns of Arizona) website. So, yes, the Tx made a difference but I don't know any figures. (I was an ignorant Newbie so needed an idiots guide!) Search there and you will find a series of articles about the tos and fros of setting up a PCP. I suppose the Lane 5 bar step would be an alternative.
I posted eleswhere about the kick on the gun, that limited accuracy. I fixed this by accident by changing to a much heavier pellet. Same power, so slower at the muzzle, but the kick disappeared and the accuracy was much better.

Beware....Being a USA post, they are looking for 2x the UK power- if not more. I've seen past USA threads getting stupid power levels and just a few shots. In this case, the Belleville stack is in 3s, which implies high reg pressure to me - most stacks I've seen in UK use 2s.
Also, in post 13, he wrecks the valve....

Realising you've changed from 'the' to 'most' and without wishing to derail this thread - is the PP700 reg different to the PP750 reg 'out of the factory'?

Yes, I noted in my post that they are looking to increase power not fettle for sub 6. And wrecking the valve - do you mean the poppet? I'm aware of those issues. So would you say stack should be ))(())(())(( instead of )))((()))((( ?

The only real prob I had with this PP700 gun was the inlet filler valve. I had several die. It was curious. After fixing, the gun would fill fine, but on the second fill, a leak would develop!. Happened at least twice. As the result is an empty gun, the fix is easy. You unscrew the filler area, and the inlet valve is seen. Unscrew it. Remove the O ring, inspect the groove for any swarf or rough bits. Replace with a new O ring ideally of a slightly bigger cross section and OD than the original. It must be able to expand very slightly in the groove. There are new ones in the spares kit supplied, but they are really a touch too small. No trouble now for 2 years. As it's such an easy fix, it's no hassle to have another go.
