I bought this in .22 for despatching squirrels and Glis glis in cage traps. I have looked at reviews which give it a power level close to the 6lb. limit

Mine produces barely half of that and despite the "R" power drops off with every shot. Should I accept I have been foolish enough to buy a fine example of Chinesium. or is it worth sending for repair?
I bought it used.

Interesting... has someone been playing with the regulator?

My one (.177 cal) produced power which was very close to 6ft.lbs, and was very consistent. The regulator was doing its job.
However, the shot count was only 20 shots... and youngsters found it hard to cock.

So I changed the hammer spring to make it easier for the kids. . This reduced the power to about 4ft.lbs but added a bonus of increasing the shot count to 40 shots. . . The regulator was (is) still doing its job and the shots are within 6 fps.
