Remember it well unfortunately as my old man was a frequent visitor to a lot of the rigs, sorting staffing issues.

RIP to all those lost 😪

I remember it well, one of the worst man made disasters. Very sad all the lives lost.

If I remember rightly and if the documentary was true, wasn't it a case of gas was routed via the platform from others and the off site managers wouldn't shut it down as restarting took time and money. Fire suppression systems were offline for maintenance etc. A classic case of multiple errors, the removal of anyone of them and it wouldn't have happened. Corporate indecision and fear hampered decisive action. A tragedy.

Remember it well, was working offshore that day. Lost a previous colleague in that tragic event. Yes the report stated that it was centered on a pump being turned on that Mtce had been ongoing on it and was not fully reinstated. Yes the other installations pumping to P. A. would have been slow to stop production. Even so was miles of pipelines under high pressure that would feed the flames Had a massive impact on offshore working procedures but of course did nothing for those and the families of those that perished. Just cannot imagine what they experienced before losing their lives in spite of working on similar Installations and and undergoing intense Fire fighting courses. It brings a chill to the spine when mentioned. RIP to them all
