What scales are folks using
I can see it now, the museum of pellet weigh scales..... Norfolk's premiere visitor attraction.Old picture actually… there’s now another set as well. Will have a look for it.
I did have a set of powder scales which were in regular use before the handgun ban here, but must of either sold or more likely given them away some time in the last 27yrsHow accurate do you want to be ? Buy a gunpowder scale for accurate, or a lab balance...
I’ll send you some tickets if we open up.I can see it now, the museum of pellet weigh scales..... Norfolk's premiere visitor attraction.
The bay has a set of the one's i used to have for sale, made by Redding! How accurate do you want to be ? Buy a gunpowder scale for accurate, or a lab balance...
Rabbit hole this one... If you find a decent set that can weigh the same pellet at the same weight twice, let me know...
I got some like these from AliExpress dirt cheap.I got these unbranded generic ones for my resin crafting, they are accurate to 0.01g they are available at about a fiver on Amazon, and have seen the same ones on temu for less than 4 quid..
They are more accurate than they used to be

Nope. 0.001gram, is 0.015 grain.. That's the resolution you need or don't bother...I got some like these from AliExpress dirt cheap.
Several versions are available with precision down to 0.01g and various max weights.
You can switch to grain, carat, and g of course.
.177 pellets being announced at 0.01g weight differences, it should be enough.
I too think that consistency is more important than exactitude. I have yet to find a batch of pellets that correspond exactly to what is written on the tin!
If you can redistribute them into three groups of limited variation, that's pretty good going.
It's also an opportunity to inspect the state of the skirts, which might well be of even greater importance.![]()
Took a punt and ordered one to see if batched pellets would lessen the flyers. Going straight back - same pellet 8.4/8.8/8.4/9.4/9.1 gnGot mine from Amazon, AccuWeight Model number IC255 300g.
Not sure there is much difference between them just make sure it measures in grains (gn) as not all of them do.
