Quite a while ago I stocked up on JSB Heavies for my .177 Krait. It’s not a particularly pellet-fussy rifle, but once you start stretching the distance a bit, pellet choice definitely starts to matter.

The tins I bought came in two different dyes. Having finally used up the first batch, I moved onto the second and quickly realised they weren’t nearly as capable at longer ranges.

So I dropped an email to the very helpful team at The Wolfman, and they kindly sorted me out with the different batch numbers they had in stock.

A couple of the batches yealded very similar to the recent batch I had, perfectly usable, but nowhere near as consistent at distance. But one batch… absolute laser beams, even out to 60 yards.

Needless to say, I’ll now be ordering a shed load! 😅

Out of curiousity, what die number were the ones that suited your gun?
Cheers

i'm almost out of 5.52 exacts die 75 so went gunshop and they'd had new stock, die 32.
tried a tin and they were fine, so went back to stock up. i noticed that these die 32's shot a bit tighter than 75's at 25yds, so be interesting to see what they do further out.
had a tin of die 19 .177 exacts a few years ago that opened up after 30yds.

Maybe, if you have the capacity, turn up ( or down) the " volume" a taste.... A mere 1/2 grain of powder can make a marked difference...
