Gents,
These came in the box with a rifle I bought quite a while back. I assume they are probably rebranded, weigh about 12.8gr and are pointed. Any idea what they are
Thanks in advance,
Ken

I think you may be right, now I've put my specs on I can see the double ring, I honestly didn't notice it before 😳. Timing seems to fit as they were in a box with a Webley Omega.
Thanks gents, that's one of life's little mysteries now put to bed

Also Webley Hustler I recall;

All sorts of pellets are re-packaged and resold as other stuff as folks know (JSB asa Air Arms etc.).

This has been going on since the early 1900's. Dunno who started on the twin ring / pointy thing back in the day, most were pants and maybe made by Cammels Ltd who did "Champions" and various other cheapos, and similar outfits like Slugs of Sidcup (unless the same folks) or Lanes etc. etc.

A top quality twin ring design of it's time was the Mount Star jet / silver jet, these were cracking things later re-branded Beeman.

Above a "normal" ie. not dealer tagged Magnum tin as most look, dunno if Nickersons were just distributers though, the dealer tag tins are of interest as variations to collecters, well out of touch now though with values but try them on the bay if you don't want them, back in the day I would have said £15 maybe, on the day who knows, but anything airgun related with any little bit of age has interest and value.

Don't think it really matters, to be honest, Ken.

They look like something I used to use in the 1970's.

Stick them in the bin and buy something better.
In the bin:eek: According to the tin in the photograph posted by @edbear3 they are specially designed to combine accuracy with the maximum penetration and shock capability. They also have a thin soft skirt for best obduration and maximum velocity, not forgetting to mention the spire point for penetration and the driving bands with 'scraper groove' to grip rifling securely and clean the bore with each shot ;). It does make you wonder why they stopped making them :)

I get these from a local farm shop
£9.49 for 500 .22
Not the best pellet, But pretty spot on for 25mtrs in me cp2’s
Excellent for plinking 👍

All cobblers claims like many others if the time like Prometheus and Ball bearings in pellets etc. just how it was since 1905 or before, some totally outlandish.

My point was really about binning them, I used to be a keen pellet collector, and sometimes the most unexpected tin would make good money if a retailer stamp one, as for someone that had a personal connecton.

Some other usual claims here on old stuff.....
