So i have come across a major mystery issue regarding a 99s and 50k. I will do my best to explain everything and hopefully its a minor issue and not major so here goes.

I currently have a 99s in .22 which was shooting absolutely fine, and also a 50k .22 also shooting absolutely fine. So what i have done is dismantled both guns for a clean and polish where needed. None of the internals were swapped or changed at all. However i did change the cocking links over as the one was slightly tatty to make a clean looking gun.

Now the mystery part, so everything is fitted back into both guns the way they were before, the triggers cocked and then disengaged once the safety was held in. Nothing is tight fitting or feels stuck at all and everything moving freely. Now for some unknown reason which im currently loosing the plot with is both guns wont cock meaning something seems off with the trigger unit as its not latching onto the piston. I cant see it being spring bound as nothing has changed internally from before. I have tried cocking the gun with and without a mainspring to see if i can see the problem but neither will latch to the piston latch.

I have also tried fitting both trigger units in different guns and both are doing the same. There isn't anything that has fallen out either as it would be in the box. Im currently at a last resort since i cant for the life of me see the issue. If i cant get them both going again i will be splitting for parts and have done with it, which i really don't want to do.

Many thanks please help 🫣

Sounds like changing the cocking links over is the problem. Whilst they may look identical are they really?

They both measured exactly the same i have recently just put the links back to how they were and just going to try it quickly

Well as if by magic with the sun shining through the window and a little pep talk from jesus himself its now working again 😇😇😇😇 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏. Something seems very miniscule different between the two cocking links. After swapping them back to there original barrels they are working. Many thanks gentlemen 🤝🤝

Any machinery including guns when swapping parts can make a big difference.
When i swapped parts from my racecar engines over to another engine hated the difference.
Put back in original engine back to normal, parts wear to the machine they were put in.
Same with guns i suppose they are all machinery.
